I understand, and I apologize for the trouble this issue caused you. But pinging me and commenting on my profile about it (when my profile box explicitly says not to do that) is not going to help. We are already aware of this problem and the importance of fixing it.

This issue should now be fixed- you should be able to make new ping groups again. :)
