i hope this counts as a cryptid~
often mistaken for a faerie when seen by humans, they've never been truly classified. ever more rare as they're hunted by cats who think they're birds, although usually they'll outsmart the cat and escape but even the few casualties impacts their population. ostracised by the small birds they share habitats with, often greeted by angry chitters as if a predator has just appeared. they do their best to keep their distance from other creatures to keep the peace. sightings usually occur when they're just trying to get out the way and might not be concentrating on staying hidden. if you see your cat chasing nothing in the garden or staring intently out the window at something you can't quite see, it may just be light or the wind, or it might be one of these guys! <p>Only in recent years, as photographic technology has evolved alongside the advent of &;always on&; cameras throughout the globe, have Crytozoologists gained a foothold into their belief of a being responsible. One of these things, tentatively dubbed the Mukouninaru, or &;lapse man&;, was observed in the forest around Mount Fuji, tempting travelers to throw a rope over the branches... and pulling them with it.</p>
<p>Whether or not it originates in Japan, or merely has migrated there for some form of sustenance, given the incredibly high suicide rate, the Lapse Man is the last thing you may ever see when that feeling takes control for just a moment.
<p>Legend has it that when Jesus drove Legion from the demoniac into the herd of pigs, one porcine demon escaped drowning in the sea and has stalked the land ever since. It hunts by night and flays men alive to take their bodies for itself. Supposedly dwelling in the caves southeast of Sea of Galilee, the Geresene Flayer appears as a skinless man with the head of a demon pig. He always carries two huge curved skinning knives to flay his victims with.
