the button on the front page is for Random Trick or Treating. WHen you're using the forums, you have a general idea of what you'll get from someone's house that you choose, because people have figured out the pattern. With random, you don't know. That's why that time has always been shortened the entire time, while regular ToT shortens on the last day.

And like others have said, it is too late sadly for suggestions for trick or treating specifically! Wave 2 will be coming soon :)
