Heliostarcxus (pronounced Hell-ee-oh-Starks-us) was my first pet here, and his name is a mashup of some names of historical figures, such as Aristarchus (astronomer and mathematician), Copernicus (a polymath), Hevelius (an astronomer), Heraclitus (a philosopher) and a multitude of others. the names appealed to me because they sounded cool, but mainly because they are also names of craters on the Moon (having been named after the people), and i spent my third year at Uni designing and making jewellery inspired by the Moon. so the names kinda stuck with me, and i thought it was a good name for a dragon. but it is a mouthful of a name, so he goes by Helio for short :P

Old Toby is the first pet I adopted from the Adopt R Us. He was a regular Noktoa but I decided he needed to be Nostalgic because nothing screams "that old stuffed owl from when you were a kid" like Old Toby!

I'm going to talk about Oikawa Toru, my Reborn Torrey. Is a fan pet of a character from the manga/anime Haikyuu!!. Why I choose him? Well he's one of my fav characters from that story. He can be very annoying most of the time, bigheaded guy that almost you want to punch him in the face lol but, despite that, he's a hero for me. I mean, he's not a talented volleyball player since the begining as his nemesis Ushiwaka or Kageyama, but he works so hard every day to be a better player (he's a setter), to be a better version of himself and that is remarkable for me. And well, he's cute, funny... I just love him xD.

Hi My favorite of my pets names is Grabby Hands. It's an expression I've used for a number of years for the times when I'm really wanting something that's probably not mine. Grabby is an Experiment 4423 in chibi and is one of the most adorable creations I've seen in a long time. With his Pushmi-pullyu style the name had a fun feel but when his story fell into place around it, it just felt perfect. Bonus..it's super easy to create a treasure trove for Grabby Hands ;)

Most, if not all, of my pets were adopted and I haven't changed any of their names since then. But the one I did adopt specifically because of the name was Arithmetic, because I like math :). Also the word just has a good feel to it.

One of my pets is named Dartichu. I have no idea how I came up with it - I just made it up the day that I joined the site. Now I can't imagine my pet being named anything else and the name has grown on me! I thought it was weird for awhile but now I think it's adorable :)

I don't have any pets right now. I travel a lot and he/she would be terribly lonely. That's unfair to any pet. My very first dog's name, though, was Jim. I was 5 and standing in front of the grocery store, waiting for dad to take the shopping cart back to the corral. A kid walked up to me and said, "want a puppy?" Like any 5 year old, I said, YES! Dad turned around and I was holding a puppy and the kid was nowhere to be seen. It was DESTINY.

I love most of my pets names although some need to be changed because of character placement I have pets named after my favorite drinks I have pets named after rl pets and rl kids (is that weird?) and I have other pets named after various things such as Procrastination which is one of my qualities? (not sure that is the correct word)

when I first joined subeta most of my pets' names were based on OC's and/or words from this made up language I once created myself (for instance Fyanah means "nature" and Iphaneia means "fire", which is why they're respectively a Glade and Reborn pet), but nowadays I mostly create a lot of fanpets.

Most of the fanpets I have I actually managed to snag the character's full first and last name (mostly because the fandoms I'm into aren't that big/popular, so nobody had claimed them before me, and the name Amélie Poulain belonged to an inactive account when I created her).. so most of those names are fairly self-explanatory..

except for my active and leashed pet Illyusha and my other pet Napasha.. those are also fanpets, but I think when I made them the full names of their characters had already been claimed by someone else, so I used the diminutive form of their names instead. They're both fanpets for the 1960's tv show The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (the full character names are Illya Kuryakin and Napoleon Solo), Illya was actually referred to as Illyusha by a fellow Russian lady in an episode of season 1 on the actual show :'), Napoleon doesn't have an official Russian diminutive form, but I'd seen a few people in the fandom use Napasha in fics and it sounded cute, so I used that for him.. (I've also seen people use Polya for him instead, which I also like, but I wanted to use one that started with the same letter as his full name)

I'm considering maybe changing Napasha's name to his full character name now though, because that pet name now belongs to an inactive account.. it's tempting, but on the other hand I've become too attached to the name Illyusha for my other pet and I kind of want to keep both of their names in the same "style" since they're from the same fandom..

I am from the Netherlands and all of my pets are named after Dutch words ^_^

It didn't start out that way. But a while back I used my yearly totum to rename my first Subeta pet to Thee, which is the Dutch word for Tea, which is one of my favourite beverages.

Duchess Gummybuns - This name is from a show my partner and I love to watch together, Adventure Time. In an episode where the characters attended a whodunit masquerade party, they each went by silly fake names instead of their real names. One of my favorite character's fake name was Duchess Gummybuns. I just really liked it so I chose it for my pet who will be based on one of my cats, since her real life name was already taken.

I name many of my pets because of characters I like or have created myself. One of the most amusing names I gave is King Dollophead, named after the Prince Arthur of the BBC series Merlin. Why? Because Merlin called him dollophead and since he was eventually king - I called my pet King Dollophead in his honor. =D If I win, would love

My pet Henrieta was named after one of my pet ducks when I was little. I had Henry and Henrietta, which I chose from a book about a little white duck named Henry. It was one of my favourite books (I was 4) and I was obsessed with ducks. So when I saw the name was free minus another t, I had to get her <3

One of my pet names is Bookshelf and I created that one because I LOVE books! Its been a huge part of my life (reading) for a really long time! I've only recently gotten back into reading after many years of not having the time and its just so nice to be able to get lost in a world :D I'm guilty of reading my books while I'm working out as it helps me get my 3 miles needed without being tired or bored because I'm involved in another world lol :) So that's probably one of my favorite pet names that I have currently :D
