It shouldn't be random, there's a specific outcome you need (and if you don't get it in like x zaps it'll force you to get it).

no cookies until he's confirmed unlocked w like, a scribble zap cos i have my suspicions that jovi didn't zap enough before getting a chibi zap :p (i believe she did one regular zap, one experiment-only, and then another regular zap, and my bet is that the experiment-only zap messed things up)

Lmao this has gotten way too specific for an unlock! That doesn't really seem fair though, if you get a chibi on your first zap it doesn't count? That would feel kinda bogus :x [edit] Is there any confirmation the experiment only zaps won't work/count? Am curious about that too.. I would think he'd be happy as long as we are zapping

his unlock text is "Ok fine, I've had it up to HERE with your pestering, and now you go and create ANOTHER ABOMINATION? You want to take me and my zapper on? I'll use you as a cavie until you wish you'd got slimed in Blobland!" (bolded for the bits i care about) i read pestering as repeated visits, and the abomination as well, a cute chibi

so if you got a chibi on the first try... you're not making him happy, but you're also not a repeat visitor wasting his time (or at least you've not been a repeat visitor since he's been a challenger, lol).

but i'm also prone to overthinking, and i'm definitely justifying all the stupid tokens and potions i've wasted between today and yesterday :y

e/ i don't know if experiment only zaps are a problem, just that its the only difference between two people who got chibi zaps as the third zap and one unlocked euclid and the other was jovi

if eventually it is x # of zaps, then a lot more should be firing off as the days pass.
