Afternoon to all my fellow dragon lovers! I need some advice :3 I got my first egg the other day while gathering! WOOO! BUT I'm undecided on what I should do with it. To sell or to hatch? What do you all suggest? What should I expect to find inside if I do decide to hatch? :O

If you hatch, you get a dragon like your progen, triple basic in any color combo, and one of the 'common' breeds (whichever flight your egg is determines breed somewhat) I have HIDEOUS luck whenever I hatch, and get the ugliest combo. I've only hatched two that have been anything I'd keep in my lair. Selling can net you up to 500 gems depending on the market price right now.

I was definitely thinking more along the lines of selling. I had a feeling it was random colors but wasn’t sure. Do people actually purchase those with gems or would I have better luck selling for treasure?

Not to dissuade you from selling if that's what you prefer, but I'll tell you my experience with hatching eggs has been more on the positive side (and I feel that I actually have much better luck with them than with breeding, somehow). I usually hate random gamble stuff but I'm kind of addicted to hunting for eggs at this point and I'm always so excited to see what pops out of them. There is almost always some combination of genes that will redeem even the most difficult color combo and I think it's a fun challenge to figure out what to do with weird first-gen hatchies (and don't forget you can change their breeds too...that can make a big difference in how the colors and genes work together). Each one becomes a whole little project though and some genes are expensive, so it's up to you whether that's something you want to get involved with. I always try to find a souvenir egg to represent each flight celebration I participate in and so far I've had really good luck with that...even if the element is wrong, the colors I get end up fitting (like my Fire one has Ice eyes but he's red and yellow so it worked out lol). Skins and accents can help too.

Just wanted to provide another perspective before you decide what to do...I would regret it now if I had ever sold any of my eggs. I don't know what I'm going to do during Night of the Nocturne because it sounds like I could get quite a few eggs from that and I'm not sure I need THAT many projects. But not hatching them would feel like getting a bunch of presents and not opening them all haha.

All my first-gens are here if you want to see what sort of dragons you're likely to get. So far, the only one that really made me go "Ugh, what am I gonna do with YOU?" was Solomon, but I found a combo I'm going to like a lot when he's complete (and he finally gave me a reason to appreciate the Butterfly gene).

i sell mine, i opened one and it was just ugly and they don't sell after you open them. it's of course up to you. you also do need one of each at some point to unlock den slots.

I am selling them for treasure. I find them only seldome nowadays bc I am mostly gathering pink mums or try to, LOL

I’m not even at that gathering level yet for those XD I still have a ways to go on that one.

They come up really really seldom, though. I gathered around 29 in all the months only.
