next challenge

Sorry for being a day late again! I’ve been so tired! I fell asleep before I could post the challenge last night.

I was supposed to find out the gender this week. However, the doctor I ended up seeing for an early blood test was flat out rude. She put me in tears and refused to test for the gender as I requested. So the challenge was supposed to be to guess this week... but instead, I’d like some advice on what you would do in this situation.

Ps - I now have to wait until 16-20 weeks to get a gender result via ultrasound - so that challenge will still come!

Well, that's just awful! I would definitely contact the hospital about how to submit a complaint. They have procedures in place where you can report a member of staff for being rude/unhelpful etc. Hope you feel okay <3

Ouch, that's terrible. I'd totally see another doctor and complain about your current one to the clinic/hospital. I know moms that have changed their doctors far later than that and it was okay. You can reach other women you know and seek for advice about a nice doctor, one that'll make a whole first appointment like a therapy session, listening to everything you've experienced and checking all your exams to keep up to the point you are right now.

[Edit]oh, I didn't realize that you might live where health plans are common and your doctor might have been assigned to you by your company. So yeah... In that case, I think you'll have to go through a bit of stress talking to your current doctor and addressing what you didn't like about his attitude.

I'm so sorry, that is TERRIBLE. I would say I wouldn't stand for that crap but - I am going through a doctor-unhappiness myself and have yet to work it with them. I just had my regular rheumatologist retire and I'm not sure I like my new guy. I was pissed after out May appointment and I'm dreading that I see him August 19th and haven't figured out what to do about it.

I think I will write down the 3 most important things I want to address, to have in hand at appointment.... to help me say them to him without either 1. saying nothing after all again or 2. screaming at him. haha.

1. can you tell me why you are wigging and touching all my fingers and joints? I really have issues with being touched. I think if I know what you are feeling for it would help.

2. if you ever want bloodwork again please I don't want it in house here, that gal brutalized my arm - send me to the hospital for it.

3. I don't want to see you every 3 months. I don't know why I came in May or why I am here today. I waited a long time to be seen then felt rushed through.. and I don't even know what the purpose of the visit was in May.

So sorry to hear. Is there a head of the doctors there that you could speak to to ask to about this sitation?
