24 hours is too short. I'm in favor of bumping it back to 3 days. Bonus: you don't have to deal with the inevitable ticket flood. Sure there will always be tickets but 24 hours, especially around actual holidays is incredibly short a time.

I totally would support having a longer time frame where the posts are accessible. It's fine if replies get locked and all, but it'd be really helpful to be able to go back and see everything and make sure I have all of my data correct!!

It's not that there isn't warning, it's that 24 hours is a really short time after the holiday to wrap up events. Especially when it comes to timezones when we could be waiting 8-12 hours for responses from certain people across the globe- I was worried on the flower trading threads when I realized I was talking to some peeps who responded mostly 2am-5am my time and I didn't want to miss sending them flowers in time before Vesnali ended, and I can imagine that might get rough on contests if the board is closed and deleted in 24 hours. I get we can just end events a few days before Vesnali ends, but that seems like cutting the fun short when the event is still active and going?

Weren't the event forums open for a few more days back in 2017? I don't understand why that was changed. As someone who hosted events for holidays for a while, it gets pretty hectic during the event to keep track. I prefer having a few days to sort out everything with the participants for raffle prizes, slot confirmation, etc. I'm in for locking when the event ends, but please please let us view event threads.

What's more infuriating are the posts in the event forums are deleted off our recent posts so we couldn't follow up with our participants. I would really appreciate it if the time of the event forum is extended.

support, it would be great to have a bit more time (and still have a reminder that forums will close). if that's not possible i do think the posts would have to show up at 'recent posts'.

Full support.

I saw 's response to this thread and I just have one question: Why is it so important to have the event forum close 24 hours after the event ends? Is it really that much of a strain on the servers to have the event forum open for a few more days? If so, can staff please factor that into how long they choose to let events run in the future, so that there can be time for people to wrap up their contests?

I guess people could always just... choose to end their contests several days before the holiday actually ends. But then it would become hard to distinguish between kisses/dances/flowers given before their contests end, and after. Those contests get big for some people, and I imagine it would be a huge pain to have to check the timestamp on every single event notif because the holiday is still technically running. If I end my contest on a Monday at midnight, but Vesnali runs until Wednesday, then I would have to be online AT midnight so I could discern between contest flowers and flowers that wouldn't qualify after midnight. And if people aren't able to be online at the time their contest ends... well, Subeta's timestamps aren't really that clear, so good luck. That's a hypothetical situation, of course. It's been years since I did an event contest (before CWs!) so I might just be talking out of my butt here, lol.

Anyway tl;dr I don't see why the event forums can't be kept open for a few days longer. Full support for keeping them open longer.

As a user who runs a lot of group intern contests, I know exactly about the problems of different time zones. If you host a contest with a prize gallery where players are able to choose from and you give out, say, ten prizes, it could be a week until all users have been pinged one by one and choosen their prize. So 7 - 10 days would be a good time frame to let the forums open or at least readable so that the users could be commented at last if posting isn't possible anymore. One week minimum would be a good time frame.

I understand that users are given fair warning when the event ends and that forums will close, but I don't see the harm in having that information posted in a clear, static place. Is it included in the side bar on the news page? I genuinely don't remember, so please correct me if I'm wrong lol.

Though it'd be cute and more interesting to have a banner (or something) on the event forums themselves, since those are generally the hub of event activities. Just something to make the site feel like there really is something going on that users can participate in.

But yeah--it's kind of ridiculous that we can't view our own posts/topics so soon after the event is over for the purpose of giving out prizes. If it's a server issue, I can understand wanting them down relatively quickly, but otherwise it doesn't make much sense to me.

They usually do include it in the sidebar of the news page, but I agree that having it stickied somewhere on the event forum itself would be helpful as well. People probably spend more time there during the event than looking at the news, it would be a nice place to put a reminder like that.

I'd be very much in favor of keeping the forum open a little longer but locking all the threads, because I agree the fact that the board gets deleted completely is difficult to deal with when there are promises to be kept. If followup needs to happen, that can be handled through other methods like a new thread or sMail, but at least then the thread wouldn't vanish too quickly.

While 24 hours is a nice grace period it often isn't enough. I myself got quite sick this weekend and I didn't realize Vesnali had actually ended until about a day and a half after it did.

150% in favor of this. i left my event open the entirety of the event, and didn't get the chance to send out all copies of my items before the end of the event. an archive would be great

Staff were great about being upfront about when the forums were closing, but I think 2-3 days would work best. One day is just too short to wrap up contests.

You should be thankful that they even are open after event closes even for just 24 hours otherwise they may close when event ends or before event ends or not even exist.

That's not a very good way of dealing with suggestions. If the solution for things is to just be thankful that it even exists and how dare we ask for changes, then what would be the point of even having a suggestions forum?

Actually, if the event forums didn't exist that would be more convenient since I would actually be able to see my posts after the fact. Thanks for the great suggestion!

I see no problems suggesting changes that improve features. The site wouldn't improve user experience without suggestions and input from the users. :)

I stopped reading halfway through the responses on the first page (because I agree) so sorry if it's been suggested but

If you don't want to extend the availability of the forums post event, can we compromise by not having the posts removed from our post history? I just need to see it for reference, not to post on the thread. I had to file a ticket to get some information and that's just extra work for staff.
