I have had a ridiculous week. I CANNOT remember if I requested my second item. I can't see on your profile the comment section to help myself out. Can you let me know? I'm sorry for the troubles! I just don't want to double request. <3

Francine slides into the booth with her friends after delivering the last load of prizes to the Bounty. She smiles prettily at Seamus O'Malley, who looks happy but a bit sheepish.

"So I felt rather awful about our quarrel and especially about my remark about his dead wife," Seamus continues to explain. "I thought he'd laugh at me teetering in those heels while wearing that silly fisherman's cap, but he wouldn't even answer the door. If I'd only known..."

"You wouldn't have been any use," Nutsy assures him. "Ciaran was already dead from the gas Moore pumped in through the vent. Ciaran had tried earlier to stick a note through to the Boyles, but they were too boisterous to hear the rasp his voice now made, poor chap.'

"He would have been gone rather quickly after that," Thaddeus agrees. "Your visit was too late, Seamus. It just confused the Boyles, who knew they saw a second figure. If Jack hadn't shot the corpse the next morning to cover for his brother, whom he thought killed Ciaran, we would have had a clearer case. That just muffled it up, as did the ice pick, which was not much more than a scratch and leprechauns are tough."

LaBrie nods solemnly. "Moore was not as clever as he thought though. He dragged the ladder in from the yard since he wasn't tall enough to lift it, then left it under the vent to make it look as though Mack had gone up, but the bottom of the rungs were still covered with mud from dragging."

"So his so-called errand was killing Ciaran?" Francine asks.

"Exactly," Nutsy answers. "Ciaran only knew him as Shamus, since you always referred to him like that, Seamus, but he didn't have the strength to finish his note. Senseless jealousy. Trying to get rid of Ciaran, who had no interest besides friendship in Shannon, and then frame Mack, was badly conceived from the start."

"Jealousy isn't reasonable," observes LaBrie, "And there's always a human toll. Shannons devastated that she was the motive, the Boyles don't know what will happen to Jack, although I doubt a judge will be too hard on him, and Mack's out of a job unless someone wants to buy this old hotel."

At that, Seamus smiles. "I've got a pot of gold, remember, and an interest in these fine folks. I'm thinking I'm needing a wee investment. Another drink on the house, friends?"

The judges liked all your solutions so much, including the one that was entertaining but off-base, that they think you're all winners! I agree!
