Delanie (age 20-21) is the youngest member of the current generation of the Hawthornes, a well known and powerful family of witches. Her mother and older brother are especially known for their talents in magic which makes her feel under the pressure to live up to the standards they have set in the magic world, even though she feels she'll never be as good as they are. This is especially due to the fact that she lacks the grace of the rest of them and is quite clumsy, which often causes her magic to backfire on her or others.</p>
<p>One mishap was so bad, it resulted in her getting injured, leaving a small scar above her right eyebrow, which she often tries to hide with her hair as it causes her to feel really insecure, both in her appearance and her skills as it's a permanent reminder of her (perceived) lack of skills in magic.
