I'm tired too Murete, and in my soul too -sighs-. Alas, Jenn, the painting has turned into a fiasco. I’ve had a bad day. 7 days ago, I started repainting 2 pieces of furniture. The dude at the paint section of a home improvement store told me I didn’t need to go with oil based paint. I was surprised but excited. He said it’s gotten really good and used for furniture. So trusting in the expert, I buy latex paint. I spent the next several days painting. Then I noticed some paint chipped off with nothing hitting it. Shocked I went back to the store and found out that the kid had told me everything wrong. I was right all along. So the manager gave me a can of polyurethane for free. Well I went and put the coat on—doing everything the label told me too. Today, going down to put the next coat on, I discovered that it had dyed my colour. Instead of light off white, it now looks this horrible streaked yellowed aged colour that looks awful. Not what I was going for. I was so upset I was crying. 7 days of work including sanding them down and painting and all—ruined. So we went back to the store with me crying. In the end they gave me new oil based paint and sanding paper. They also gave us a complete refund on the other paints. So we got $25 back but I have to sand everything down and restart so not really even equal but it’s what it is. I’m glad they fixed it though. Anyway, I lost all that work so I’m not happy about it. After the house showing tomorrow I will sand and then prime the rest of the nightstand and the cabinet and then paint—again. –sighs- And then as I was putting away the dishes, one of my favourite mugs slipped out of my fingers and shattered on the floor. We have been spending so much with this move that I can't replace it.
ON the positive side, I sanded down the drawer of my nightstand first and I took some stain I had leftover and it looks stunning so I’ll stain the top as well. It will save me some time. Also Nigel’s vet visit went well and the vet is pleased how his skin is doing.

Oh my god, I'm so so sorry. I can't imagine how upsetting and frustrating all of that is. It's nice that they gave you replacements and refunded the original cost, but you're right that it doesn't solve the situation of having put in all that work already and having to redo it. And I'm very sorry about the mug as well. I hope you can replace it sometime in the near future at least.
But I'm glad that the stain at least looks nice so you can save some time doing that for the nightstand.
yeah epitome of bad day. I think we can slid it into the grocery bill on the first. Yeah I love this stain. I've used it before and it only takes an hour to dry and no need to coat it with anything. Its waterproof as well.
today, I did all the sanding on the cabinets and showered--was COVERED in saw dust. It was everywhere. I'll prime them tomorrow and hopefully get at least one coat of paint started. Also need to do some packing but I spent the better part of 5 hours on the sanding. My elbow is hurting really badly--Arthritis , been bothering me the last week. I wrapped all of dad's gifts for mum to help her out. Also gotta get ready for my brother and his family who are coming on Saturday night.
I'm glad you're getting it done but I'm sorry it's wearing you down so much. I hope that you can get sorted before your brother and his family arrive (or tht maybe they can help y'all finish packing even) ❤️
they can't help. We will be busy the time they are here. But on Boxing day I guess work will resume.

so far it's gone well so I'm hopeful. Today it's the zoo, which I'm looking forward too :) Ruth, the youngest seemed to feel I was pretty cool. She stuck to me like glue and brought me toys to see. She's 9. Cute kid.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and happy Lumi! I know it's early but I might not be on tomorrow so I got to get it out now. I've been super busy with work cause you know retail and just got a computer a week ago from my boyfriend. I had actually broke my phone a couple weeks ago so I really was screwed. I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow and spends it with family or friends or even your pets!

I'm doing okay. Tired and had to deal with trying to renew my insurance (probably will not actually be approved) today but I did play a new video game I got for awhile which was nice. How's the packing going?

We are officially UNDER contract for our house to be sold! WE got an offer the other day for more than asking. We countered with a condition the house is sold as is. We shan't be repairing anything. And they accepted!!! -pokes above-
Yeah. But I moved this week! Christmas Eve I got the okay to move in and I started moving stuff in yesterday on my day off^^
