1. Every shop brings out cinnamon things, and everyone lights bonfires in the evenings too. Those are my favourite flavour and/or scents

3. I'm pretty awful at wrapping presents (think atrocious mess), but I also really enjoy doing it. They're messy but I can use fancy wrapping paper and decorate with ribbons etc

What I love about the holiday season is ...

1. Everyone is trying their best to be nice. Not only the amazing people at Subeta with their contests and games and gifts, but even my coworkers and customers. Even my family managed to be in a festive mood which made it so much easier to spend quality time with them.

2. Spending time with my chosen family. Most of my best friends live far away, but we managed to get together online and celebrated the holidays with a DnD oneshot. (We wanted to be evil and kill Santa. We all died before reaching the North Pole. We did great!)

3. The pretty lights! I love it how every tree, house, garden and room illuminated, and I love fairylights so much? I leave them everywhere at least 'till May.

My three things:

1. Like so many others, it's time with family. We're a small group now but one lives in another state and we only get Christmas and maybe one or two other times per year together with all of us and I do look very forward to it and am disappointed when on those occasional Christmases when it can't happen.
2. Peppermint everything! Candy, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate. Yummy.
3. Lights! Shinies! Sparklies! Lights! Christmas Eve is our day to drive around an enjoy everyone's lights. Our local zoo is decorated with lights and it's open from before Thanksgiving to New Years and we usually go at least twice if we can.

Here are my top three things I love about the holiday season (it was honestly hard just to pick 3):

1. FOOD. Food is always going to be number 1 xD The holiday season is really the only time of year my family splurges and gets fancy food, like for example this year we made a really delicious prime rib, and that's something we can never afford. Plus all the sweets we bake and people bake for us!!!
2. Gifting things to my loved ones that I know they will really love. I believe that gifts should be hand-picked for people based on what you know they want or like, not just rushed or generic. I love taking the time to find the perfect thing for my friends and family. I try to pay attention to anything specific they say they want, for example, this year about 3 months ago I saw my mom talking with her facebook friends about some fishing thing she wanted(she loves fishing). I immediately wrote that item down because I knew it would be a great gift, and she was so surprised and happy when she unwrapped it on Christmas. It was a small item, but because I had noticed her talking about it, and remembered to get it for her such a long time later, it really meant a lot to her.
3. So this last one I'm going to lump together a few things and just say the feelings associated with the holiday season. For me, there are a couple that stand out. Love and nostalgia are the big ones for me. The holiday season is a good time of year to really reflect on how you feel. During most of the year, people get busy and can't make time for each other, but we always make time for family and friends during the holidays. And for some reason, getting together during this time just feels more special.

My favorite things about the holiday season:

1. Pretty new items! I love Melody’s Items, and staff outdoes themselves with new wearables every year.
2. Hanging out with family. As I get older, the time we get together grows less and less. It makes me value the holidays more.
3. Traveling during the vacation time is also nice. I’m happy when we get to be somewhere warm in winter.
