I'd like to join in.

If someone asks to play but has their tree locked, I think you just need to let Bennet know as soon as possible. I don't think you'd get in trouble if you weren't able to gift someone because they joined in to gift but weren't able to receive... And she'd be able to verify so that you wouldn't get penalized for that...
