LOL I wouldnt let the VA operate on my dogs, much less me. I get my eyes checked and flu shot, thats about it. We get medical care from the military hospital. I am first case, so glad over and done not wait all day and no one says why.

It got up in the 70s today but it's gonna cool off now. Sunday and Monday will be really cold.

I only have the VA for my medical which is ok in some places but in others it is not very good I don't know where I live is the best or the worst I live close to the Nashville VA and its a nice sized one .... but the one in L.A is a large VA and in Chicago you have to drive to the different sections of those VA's and I sat in the middle of the grass at the LA VA and had a picnic lunch while we waiting for my next appointment

glad to hear that it warmed up for you but saddened now that it is going to get cold again but it should start warming up real soon

haha I have a ton of those hearts just sitting in my vault I have all the items and still have like over 2K and the events isn't even over yet so who knows how many I will have when its over ... Many people arent happy with the one here. You know you heard about 2-3 years ago, how a vet shot his dr and then himself. That was at the VA here in EL paso. Shot himself near the elevator banks on the main floor. Security was crazy tight for a long time.

I like to have plenty of hearts as well. It's fun to purchase gifts throughout the year and I often cruise through the items from previous years for goodies that I missed. :)

yes I remember that .... I thought you were going to a different VA now ... The VA isn't responsible for the actions of that Veteran I know he probably had a lot of issues and that is not an excuse for violence he needed more help which he probably didn't get .... its sad to hear about that especially for our Veterans we get the crappy end of the stick every time if they need a pay cut SS and the VA is the first to get it cut enough said about that

I know quite a few members that don't get enough hearts so when I do my gift bombs I like to have enough of all the currencies to get them something that might have never been able to get that is y it is on the wishlist.... my WL is very very short its not that i don't like gifts but I don't wish for anything cuz something bad usually happens in return .....

No, the VA isnt responsibility poor guy had issues he couldnt handle it any more. Its other issues that make it bad, example every time I get hubby's meds from there I have to double check everything, and 95% of the time something is missing. I even had the head pharmacist trying to refuse to give my hubby his vit D, which is dr prescribed from there. She said, he can just go out in the sun. THis was all said, in a snotty attitude, I am not thin skinned believe me. But this was uncalled for, I asked her under what authority do you have to refuse giving a vet any medicine. I asked, is your authority higher then the prescribing dr, made her shut her darn face and just give the medicine. Lucky for her, I was going to go directly to the head administrator's office and file a complaint and then fired off an email to the secretary of VA affairs. I am a polite person, but if I know I deserve something or its my right and someone gives me a hard time. All bets are off, someone is going to get an ear full and I will get what I need or deserve. I dont ask for much, just respect me and dont talk crap to me just because you think you can. I have a hair trigger, and Wolverine comes out (mental image the claws pop out).

I take vitamin d as well cuz I can't go out in the sun my eyes are burned from being in the desert for a long period of time without sunglasses we moved so much during the Gulf War that by the time my prescription sunglasses caught up to me I was already back in the US at my post not there fault we moved a lot and quickly during that time hell there for a while no one could keep up with us we were moving day and night

cant you get his meds in the mail it is so much easier to just call them in and have them sent to your house

I am eagerly waiting for the warm weather. In the meantime I keep looking at the temps in Phoenix and moaning. I really want to winter there.

My eyes are sensitive, because of their color and allergies. I wear sunglasses a lot, and I didnt use to. Until an eye doc chewed me out.

yes they are even with sunglasses on now it fricken hurts them to the point to wherer they just start watering and I can't keep them open .. I have Blue eyes so I was really screwed over in Iraq with out sunglasses especially during the summer time..plus the oil rain that happened every day for 6 weeks nice in the morning but by 1300 it would start to get cloudy and then oil would fall from the sky sometimes you had to pull guard on in that crap ... plus being gassed and doing dodo duty it sucks being in a war the crap you have to do to keep the enemy from knowing where you were is just as bad as having to fight the enemy to begin with ///I get my meds in the mail for 90 days at a time I see my Psycho Dr. and my Physician at least once a month its a small area here with not a lot of veterans in the area there more closer to the Screaming Eagle Post at Fort Campbell so I can get in almost whenever I need to or want to

Yep, blue eyes here too. Man it must have been so difficult to deal with the desert sun, and at the same time meeting all the demanding necessary to be safe and unseen, and yet fight the enemy. While in EGYpt, I have a visor on and sunglasses walking or driving.

I was stationed at fort campbell in 1982, I was assigned to 426 S & S BN, Screaming Eagles 101st airborne division, too. I worked in a supply warehouse for the whole division. Also, where I became a disabled vet.

i will post my campng story then it is off to the yurts we go where we are all connected with intercom..less we turn them off..so we can still play gnite time like a sleepover if you will ...hahahha

like i grew up in wisconsin lake country where the parties were found by mao handouts always in a cornfield which was chopped down circle in the middle and the stalks were then firestarters..so ya a bonfire music blaring(because we were always far from anywhere hahaha..and the everpresent kegger of beer..brewskies..

well one time in the winter..peeing was a problem for us girls but a place to go was easy. well cheryl and i once walked through the cornfield to go pee and far enough off so noone could see us....if you what was the worst thing??COPS!!!they could easily block the 1 thin rouad in that was created..so everyone runs off. so we ran along further and got lost in the field.

.we were quite inebreated and thought we were on the right track to go to our car needless to say we didnt find that either and wound up hitching a ride on the road we found'

..but rides were far and inbetween we had to walk a LONG time not sure of where we were. ..in the meantime though we found a dead cow in the field we thought it was sleeping but we poked it it was frozen and we RAN from there of course further lost..the cornfieds were taller than we were.

the next spring i got a call from a friends dad(that field we were using at that time of winter.).so the next spring while plowing up the fields he found my backpack it had part leather on it and the mice ate all through that..my passprts ID and all kinds of things i had lost as it was left behind were in there..homeworks never to be found and i didnt realize i lost it of course till the next day and COULDNT retrace my steps as i didnt know where i was then. We had so many good times partying on hilltops an the =everpresent corn fields..i had a vw bug and onetiime filled it with people and a tapped quarterbarrel we jut pased the hose around///these days thank GOD are so very different..or are they? RAVES are now the impromptu party place..but no bonfire there,

ok put away your marhmallow stick eat your last smores and off to yurts we go ..most have two beds if you want to buddy up but there are enough we can each have one like the one pictured above

Just those few days they were giving out a lot of them. Then they went back to barely any. Gosh I hope she is okay! That is worrisome, seems she always talks with you. I put my pjs on my HA. can I ride the airbus in my pjs, I dont feel like changing. LOL
