How do you imagine is the best way to go about this? Take out the littles until they're all gone, then spend that time on the big? Or just all big all the time?

No, you can take mine. Don't have enough pets that can earn them, I prefer shrieks and cold blasts. I got a bunch of pets that can grind for those.

The blessed trident is very lack luster until T10 in terms of power. It's great for everyday things like battle quests, but not an event boss weapon. The tooth and malice are not much better than the Forj Tempered Kusarigama, ice rose and axe. Mod all your weapons with crit strike. Do you have more scrolls than just perilous whirlpool? You can try chain freezing with scrolls like psycho smasher and shriek of despair, but you need multiple copies. Or you could try to do as much damage as quickly as possible and just die a lot more with bomb scrolls like fatal fire or gale force. I'm not sure which is the best route for a T7/T8 pet. Freezing may make battles last longer with no significant benefit. If he's just going to crit you while you try to freeze him, you will do more damage with a bomb scroll instead.

I would say to boost only under the follow conditions:

1. It will help you get wins on daily opponents for BQs so you can get more exp per day
2. It will make it a lot easier to get wins on the other gellies for loot and achievement prizes
3. Boosting won't cost you millions of sP.

I need my MW for battle quests, but I can lend you my prodigy eyeball that also blocks water if you want to try that? I think that will definitely work. I was getting wins at T11 with the eyeball.

Not really, just as many as you can. You can freeze first turn with your helmet and then proceed from there. I am expecting you to die more frequently this way, but doing more damage per turn
