I completely forgot about Trivia!! Thank you so much for mentioning it. It's pretty cool how successful this site was even when the only games were Random, Trivia, Rock Paper Scissors, Safe Crack, and other basic non-flash staples.

introduced me to Subeta after I was having problems with Neo and wanted something different.

My 12 year anniversary will be next month. I had been playing on neopets for a couple of years (my oldest son got me into it...and he's 21 now for reference to how long I've been doing the pet site thing, lol) and then a friend I had made while on Premium over there (I believe her name was Kaye) mentioned this new cool pet site called Subeta. I hopped over and instantly loved the art and the pets and the community. Back then there were no HAs and I recall the great migration from forum icons to HAs...that and how it was a 50/50 chance that Subeta would be down at any given time. Ahhh, good times, good times.

I've taken a couple hiatuses over the years, but I eventually check back in. Most of the people I knew when I first started have either moved on or we've lost touch, but I find that there are always people who are open to chat and are really pretty cool, so it never feels lonely here even after all these years and all the transitions the site and myself have been through.

A friend from neo got me over and I didn't really go back to neo as it got boring and things got crazy over there. My friend doesn't play here much anymore but I'm still here even though I do a little less, but still enjoy Subeta

Oh man, there have been so many changes over the years! Like several have said for themselves, I've taken a few breaks throughout my time (usually a few months of low to no activity) but enjoy the site far too much to ever stop for good. Glad to see so many long time players, tells you something about the quality of the site that people stay for good.

Another one who was introduced by a neofriend. Bit of a common thread, huh. I absolutely loved the aesthetic of mid-00s subeta. The pet art especially, that saturated, chunky art is such a great look. Especially those early spectrum pets, I went wild for that color when it came out.

It took me a hot minute to stop playing neo, so for the longest time I'd play these sites more or less simultaneously. Stuck with subeta for longer, of course. I want to say my duration on this site (including the first account I played) has lasted longer than I actively played neo.

Ultimately, the battling and training system kept me. Neo's training system is absolutely a relic of its time, and training on subeta has always been infinitely easier and more approachable.

Also, I miss the oekaki. I drew so many cute pics of my pets on that board.

Neopets is how I found it, I don't remember exactly how though. We can't remember if my friend was here first or myself.

It's been a while haha I also came over from Neopets, but I don't remember exactly how I found out about it.

I used to come online everyday, but in the recent years it got a little less often. And now that I'm working a 9-5 and don't have a personal space for my PC at home, I haven't been on in months.

I'll probably be more active once my husband and I move out of where we are and get our own place though. I still love Subeta, just haven't been able to get online as much.

Also I missed the whole Morostide plot again and I'm very sad about it

12 years, 3 months, 6 days myself and I have a 'legal' (18+ yr neo acct) still active too as a reminder of where I came from lol. I was working on a few guides for Altador and a few new games on neolodge and someone (maybe Georgie?) pointed me this way. Haven't really looked back since past the ps2 game.

I made my account about 7 years ago, a few years after stopping using neopets religiously in elementary school and into middle school. (As much as the site has more content, the site is awful about any sort of romance (despite having romance in their own plots) or LGBT content.)
However, I wasn't really into subeta when I joined, and probably left like after a week of playing. While my account is 7 years old, I really consider my account like three years old because that's when I actual started playing for real.

Same as most others in my day - heard about it playing Neo. :) I was ready to support a new site that offered something more personal. I really enjoyed the fact that the items were attainable and you didn’t have to spend years and years on the site to make enough sp to get an item you’d been coveting. Plus, I loved that the original items on Subeta were drawn by people who just loved being artistic...and at times they could be super cheeky with their design or item description and it was totally accepted and celebrated. It also was super cool that items could be custom designed and commissioned.

Subeta has just always had a more personal feel from day one - everyone knew Keith and the small staff and chatted in the sidebar chat room. It wasn’t elitist and money hungry like neo.

On a side note...man - 14 years. I was a baby back then! LOL

i've been here for nearly 8 years now! not as long as some other people in this thread, but i figured it still counts :)

I also got here from Neopets! I'd been on Neopets for a few years already but never really enjoyed the site that much, and a friend recommended subeta to me. I like it so much better! The biggest thing that drew me in was probably the functioning economy on the site, and the fact that there were still some legitimate ways to make "money" on this site (such as restocking ie). I had to work my ASS OFF FOR LITERAL MONTHS on neo to get anywhere in regards to neopoints/etc, and while you still have to work for your goals on subeta, it doesnt feel utterly unattainable like everything did on neopets.

another thing i loved (and still do) was the HAs! and the pet designs are better imo no shade tho

I joined in 2005, but I don't remember how I learnt about Subeta. I suspect through Neopets friends, but it's been so long that I'm not sure. I took to Subeta a lot quicker than Neopets. I've always found it easier to achieve goals on this site.

I did stop playing actively in 2009 or 2010. I came back last year for a couple of days with the intention of sticking around and didn't succeed at that. >_> I'm hoping to stick around again this time though.

I created this account just over 11 years ago. :) Though I had an account before this one that was frozen, so I had to wait out the time period and create this one. I think I made my original one a little over 13 years ago. I was introduced to the site by a couple of kids in elementary school! I recruited my sister a little over 9 years ago, and other random people over the years. Ironically, I'm the only one who still plays. I just love this game so much!

I joined this site through Neocolours where there was a Subeta tag and out of curiosity, I saw all of the subeta pets and colours and was amazed by the pets at the time (and still am now!) I then realised about the website and completely hooked onto it! I also told a friend about this as they were on Neopets first and we realised how liberating Subeta was compared with Neo.

I've been on this site almost daily since and my longest time was when Subeta changed its url from .org to .net and I didn't know anything about it and discovered that Subeta had introduced two new pets! It's a great site for a pet lover and character creator like me! :)

I think I came from MaraPets? Or a similar small pet site. I came for the pets and the avatars, and stayed for the community, the events, and the functioning economy :L

I’ve been on here for over 11 years now, although with periods of inactivity during that time - but always somehow find my way back of course!

Like most people I found it through a friend at Neopets and then never looked back. Subeta was and has been the best form of escapism for me, no matter the age!

I found Subeta via an art site, through someone's art! Loved the site! I think it was my first true experience with a pet site... I know I tried Neo but never actually got into it, so yeah. Have taken some breaks, and have definitely had periods of inactivity, but it's likely that I'd never leave.

I'm hoping to actually get back into the site again, instead of checking in every now and then, but we'll see!
