- that's very kind of you but I already own that item, which is why I did not make a claim :/ I didn't ignore you, I just wanted to give stuff away!
(ETA: I at one time won the achievement for 6000 items in my wardrobe. It's currently at 5800 and change. I have a lot of stuff. Some of that is because I do cosplay avatars sometimes, and some of that is because I just like stuff.)
The item that I have seen here that I wanted and didn't have was already claimed by the time that I saw it.

I really don't want a thread like that open all the time as it will be stressful for me. If you plan to leave it open all the time, would it be possible to make a giveaway group for it and then I can just not join the group? I enjoyed it as a day, but doing it constantly ...
How is this, dearheart? Whoever wants to participate could come on and ping the group. If they are interested that is great. If they are not, they don't have to participate in the least. It's not mandatory that anyone be part if the give-a-way.
It's just something fun for us when we have extra items we want to give away.

I would find that very stressful as any ping could be a time sensitive 'give away' item and also I have already got stressed out by the thread from the common remarks of people saying the only item they wanted was already gone when they arrived. Maybe it would be better to have longer term randomized giveaways where more people got a random chance than one person got to claim? That would lower the stress.
I disagree with your claim that if a group member is not interested they would not have to participate...being pinged is particpation as it is a popup reminder of the ongoing situation. That's why I would ask that there be a new group for the giveaway created and that group pinged rather than colovaria.
That's why I voted that the group not be pinged. that way in you choose to follow the thread you will know but otherwise it will be as if its not happening.
That´s why I made a poll. People who want to play can subscribe for the thread and so get a ping anyway. However, I wanted to make sure that all ideas are considered. Settling for a subscription consens is always possible. Then you won´t be aware of anything going on in the thread. ^-^
OK. I am disappointed that I am in a minority but I am glad a majority will enjoy it, I guess. It's too bad because as a once in a while thing, I found it really fun, and now I have to stay away from it, but that's life in groups :) There are still HA contests and chat to enjoy :)
Ulalena did mention if it kinda just dies she will close it down too, so it may not end up being open all the time anyways :)

I'm sorry to hear that the giveaway is stressing you out. :c I hope my comment didn't add to that! I was mostly hoping that I wouldn't miss out on participating (I think it's a neat idea and earmarked a few items to give away), but missing out on wishlist items wasn't a complaint. c:

So these are the results of the second poll:
Taking this into account, the thread will stay open until interest terminates which will be when nobody posted an item for a week. I´ll send no extra pings for reminding. After one week of no posts, I´ll lock the thread and opening it again 1st of December for the time of Luminaire.
