Gunter, is your attorney advising you be silent? I assure you that won't be necessary. You've already confessed in front of two officers of the law, one of whom was a SAI investigator. On top of that, thousands of witnesses heard and saw your confession in the town center.
Doesn't Anne deserve to know what really happened to her father? If you really love her like she were your own daughter, does she not deserve closure?
What is your connection with Rachelle? Was this some sort of sick experiment, torturing someone to death to see how far you could take life away before bringing it back, long after medically sound?
Even now, your brother (or what is left of him) is still traumatized by what YOU did. How horrible does it have to be to have such trauma, such abhorrent nightmares follow you into undeath?
You're a sick son of a bitch, Gunter.
AAAAND SCENE lol

I keep thinking that maybe there's some way to trigger Gunter into talking... like visiting him with a certain item in inventory, but I have no clue what it would be. I went back and visited Anne again, then Bubbles, Rachelle, and even Oatmeal in case I was missing something, but couldn't find any clues. Still annoyed that Jack Cardale thought Monday afternoon wasn't a weekday :P
Also I just skimmed past posts on this board and I'm not buying that Bubbles isn't (un)dead. I think he's 100% a zombie. But that's just my uninformed opinion, as I don't know anything about mash tuns or zombies in general, much less Subetan zombies. (I joined after the first Survival and never have quite figured that whole thing out.)
Maybe it's time to play 'good cop'/ 'bad cop' with old Gunter...or maybe 'good visitor'/ 'bad visitor'
pulls out baseball bat
Sorry if I've missed someone saying something similar, I did try to read each post, but... in the line of "how did he die so quickly if there wasn't enough water to completely cover a grown man" thing, perhaps the machine was only big enough around to accommodate a standing adult of his size and so when Gunter pushed him in he went in head first and there wasn't any space for him to get right-side-up again? Also, I think when Anne is asking where her father is, I assumed she either meant 1. Where is his body, or 2. She assumes that he must have ended up "undead" and wonders where he is now and why she hasn't seen him.
I mean, maybe the dude isn't talking not because his lawyer told him but because he's in jail and the guilt is still eating him. I dunno.
Yeah, the dude just finally confessed to what he did and is now in prison for it (as many people were hoping for). He's probably just still dealing with it in his own head, and I'm sure the SAI has probably been questioning him since he's been there as well.
It could be a while before he feels like talking to anyone else about it.
But I am still looking forward to seeing more of this develop, things like Anne and Bubbles interacting somehow. And I'm still curious to hear what Bubbles thinks about the whole thing other than what we got from his nightmare/fear challenger.
Bubbles liking rats after he had become unliving, that's normal. It's not normal to keep rats around any food-producing enterprise where that food is intended for living customers. I don't think that Burkhardt was all that sane or innocent.
looks pointedly at The SAI was in a curious hurry to arrest Gunter at the confession of a notorious drunkard taking him at his wordi nstead of remanding him to the Vetan Constabulary. Could their interest in NPC Skitters' pastry boxes be less than innocent and they are covering up that they were guilty of the original outbreak among their agent Burkhardt's rats?
The original Great Pandemic was via air vector. The Doctors Mask was a free item that was given out then and it would cut your chances of getting infected by 50 percent (if you weren't infected, which by then many were)
I wonder if it's possible that they might be saving this for further development at a later time.
Well there are calculations for mash tun sizes depending on certain factors, but I figured that would be a little too boring for most people lol. I assumed that it was rather large since they are in a factory. Sorry for repeating myself.
He still has a smile on his face, though. I wonder how they are handling him, truly? He was obviously an alcoholic, and it seems like he's been that way for years, and at that point it's dangerous and potentially deadly to cut him off completely. It's not like there are any rehab centers or anything though.
I would like to assure all citizens that we at the SAI are never ones to permanently harm, disfigure, or damage psyches to any of the Subetan inhabitants. Crime is not so rampant thanks to the good work of all the police officers, but we have been working closely with the Veta County Police Office for many years to put Gunter away. It was difficult to make an arrest for so long due to the absence of a body and no other witnesses. Bubbles, as he is now called, only had nightmares and no memories that would put his killer away. We also could not identify him via DNA as zombie DNA is convoluted and still a mystery to our scientists.

He doesn't look like he's smiling to me, he has the same expression on his face as he did when his regular image changed to the sad one. He's just got jail clothes on now.

Anyway, discussion can be fun but I feel like we're thinking way too much about it for something that's just a little fictional lore story.
Feigns a dutiful citizen belief in the SAI story, as told by . It's not very convincing. NPC Calvin Blackmoon has tried to create super soldiers and super pet soldiers in the past. Mabye Burkhardt was an innocent victim of needing money to pay the bank (also owned by Blackmoon) that caused him to deal with vermin on the Brauer property. The Spring Street Brewery their storefront is very close indeed to the Veta Resort though and any escaped rats would not have been welcome.
If Gunter found out and objected he'd be in the way of Blackmoon, Inc.'s plans. He may be a drunkard now, but maybe then he wasn't so much back then. He was made unaware and unable to interfere with their nefarious plans as was under the influence of one of their infamous psychoactive substances that was similarly and sneakily depressive like alcohol. It was gradually increased and reluctantly administered to him by his very own subborned brother so that he stayed out of the whole mess.
I just remembered that one of my pets has the job "Director at SAI." -looks at him suspiciously-
Tak: -babbles in ancient incomprehensible language-
...he's also a crazy earth demon, so I don't think he'll be much help. Any organization that would hire him can't be trusted :P
my pets Magie and Cherie are also directors for the SAI and they are also both cursed Hydrus. In retrospect they were a little too enthusiastic when fighting the guardians that were protecting the pillars keeping NPC Merana trapped both in Saherimos and Omen
One of the problems of my secret underground base in Omen (parts of it are near 's hospital) that I use to plot world takeover for myself and not the SAI or Blackmoon hide away safely from the annual zombie plague is that there are plenty of places for them to "talk shop" where I or my other pets cannot hear.
Like I said in the first post, it's fun to discuss this bit of lore. Perhaps it's because I'm creative but I thought it was fun to theorize and imagine. You don't have to discuss this at all if you don't think it's worth talking about, that's totally fine ^_^
Finally, perhaps smiling was the wrong term, but he looks not so much sad as at peace. Again, perhaps it's just my perception of the image itself.

I'm loving reading all this stuff. Discussions like this are always fun
I know, I'm enjoying this as well :)
I wonder if Rachelle is responsible for Bubbles' new life. How did she do it?
