Haven't gotten anything good in a while.

Heya, having a bit of a hard time with motivation the past couple of days, nothing serious; just got a person staying at the house for a month and I'm not super chuffed about it Just feeling a bit meh

For the Weapon Mods tab, I noticed Critical Strike Tear Crystal wasn't included. Is that intentional?

Thank you :) Not intentional, just 'haven't gotten to it', I got distracted trying to figure out if adding another elemental crystal adds more average damage than having the crit... the maths got weird since 'double damage' isn't a static amount :P

It may be easier to look at it from an icons point of view?

For instance, Eye of Royalty Crystal adds 6 icons and has a 6% chance of 12 icons over three turns.

Critical Strike has a 5% chance of doubling your 100+ icons. Obviously that isn't static either since people use different weapons, but it might be easier than trying to guesstimate damage :P

[edit]I suppose if you were to use 20 turns and 100 icons between your two weapons and scroll as an example:

You'd likely only get a critical hit once and that would be +100 icons. With the elemental crystal, you'd get +120 just for adding it and likely +36 for the curse, adding +156 in total.

You'd also have to account for your opponent possibly blocking your elemental crystal's base icons, but that's something you don't have to worry about with the critical strike. Most people can't afford to keep switching their elemental crystals out for each opponent since their quantity is limited, so I think the chances of some icons being blocked are high.

If you can make a formula accounting for all of those factors, I will be super impressed :P

Well each individual Eye of Royalty adds an average of 8.16 icons per turn once you factor in the chance of a 3 turn curse (I think that's right anyway) 1 crit would add an average of 0.05x(icons), so you'd need ... 163.2 icons to double for a crit to out average the Eye?

@ Jess Ok, I math'ed it If you have a 23 icon scroll, a Cronus and another ~40 icon weapon, with 7 different Eye of Royaltys between them, adding a Crit crystal gives an average of 172.326 icons per turn while adding the 8th Eye gives an average of 172.28 icons per turn

I don't know how to factor in defence, but Crit crystals aren't the only way to get crits so by their very nature they are slightly more inefficient than they seem, since you can't 'double crit', but like you said a crit gets past defences more than static damage though curses get through defence regardless...

... my head hurts again :P

[edit]Also having 7 different Eyes seems really daft since you can't have parched then, so you wouldn't be likely to have that many static icons to begin with ... maybe they'd be more worth it on bombs, or the duel-ballista-and-smile set idk, they seem rather weak compared to the Eye

If I understood you correctly, technically you can get a double critical hit (x4 damage) if one comes from a crystal and the other from your speed, but I don't think that makes any difference to your calculation since the speed one is independent.

I don't think crits stack, which is what makes the crystals slightly worse, since if you score a 'natural' crit it doesn't matter what your crystal does and may 'waste' it's activation I could be wrong though, is there a way to tell a crystal crit from a natural one? :P

Two crystal ones will never stack, but you can absolutely get a stack when one comes from a crystal and the other from your speed. I get them all the time with Crimsyn.

I believe the one from your speed is the one with the text one the bottom 'Crimsyn scored a critical hit!' and the crystal one doesn't have any text.

I'd never noticed, hmm... that makes them better than I thought I guess it's the defence issue that would make the difference, though the crit would win out against any opponent with curses disabled I guess Multiple crit crystals are bad for sure though, with the diminishing returns, while you can stack different Eyes
