I wonder if they'll expand the prize pools. I feel like we've gotten many more battlers in the past two years :P And it's not just a feeling after all - Crimsyn was ranked 125 when she reached T13 in 2016 and now Batpod is ranked 229 having just reached T13. That's a pretty big increase.

Yeah, I think with more battling events and all the cool loot, and even just the regular monthly challengers, it's encouraged more people to give battling a try and train their pets.

And I know they've experimented with the different methods of handing out prizes in the past (for ranks by tier, doing a certain amount of base damage, etc.). So I guess we'll see what ends up happening in the future. I'll just do my best either way, and still kind of sort of save up for some of the better weapons from the MC (I tell myself this every couple of months, but it's not really happening lol).

That's true... now I'm super curious about what they would do in this hypothetical plot :P I would hold onto your sP, though, until you see the challenger. Last time the icons the challengers used were different for each wave and the weapons that worked for one wave may not be viable in another. For example, I think one wave did primarily magma and ice, then the next did earth and physical.

Yeah, good point about the weapons thing. Although I kind of still want them eventually to be part of my set, but I'm not really sure which would be good to aim for first. I don't really have any of them.

And I'm still working on defeating Mutant Scientist for the USS and and Meatslab eventually for the Cronus Blade. Sometimes I wonder how I make it as far as I do when I'm missing so many things. A lot of it feels like luck. :P

I was the same way with Crimsyn, virtually no good weapons/scrolls and an insane amount of luck :P But it's doable! And it makes you a better battler, because you learn to work with what you've got.

I recommend looking at what is missing from your defenses - which icons do you have a tough time blocking?

Well, I have dark and wind block with ME and Trident. And then some ice and light block with Malhuili. And I have Paintbrush Blades which blocks a bit of variety.

But I'm missing pretty much everything else. Fire, water, physical, earth, magma. I tend to get by through a lot of luck and stubbornness.

LOL! So Cronus and Manifesting Weapon will take care of magma and water when you get those. I think either physical (Ether) or fire (Natasha) would be good choices. It seems like those icons are everywhere.

Btw, if you ever need to borrow anything so you can get USS, Cronus, or any other loot weapons you need, just let me know and I'd be happy to help out.

I think the base damage model was probably the best model to use going foreward. I am a little worried they are going to take the wrong lesson away from the way it was handled though. Since I think they might have given out more cores last time that they had given out in all previous gelatin wars combined.

But I think the reason why that happened was more because they fundamentally changed the way the BC works in the weeks leading up to the event, making it far easier to do damage than ever before. You really didn't even need to work that hard to crank out 5 million damage. I think I put about 2 hours of effort in with a high t10 or low t11 pet and got it pretty easily.

The threshold probably should have been 25million to 50million damage.

I think they already did say they didn't plan on using that method again though. I hope they would be willing to give it one more chance, just to see if we can get it right this time.

The flip side to that though is that if you say you need 25mil damage - people are going to baulk at that number since traditionally very few people have made it above 10mil, but the effort it takes to get 10mil now is probably the effort it took to get 1mil before pre-selection was a think.

That's true... then maybe we need a regular boss first for the BAs to gauge what the minimum should be and for everyone to see how much damage they're capable of?

Yeah, I was probably going to try and save for a Natasha first to get it out of the way as the most expensive, and also fire does seem to be pretty common (and I have like basically no fire block at all).

And thanks for the offer! I have 3 wins against Prodigy so far, so once I can get to 5 for the Prodigys Eyeball weapon, that would give me some water block until I'm able to earn the MW.

I've also got 2 wins against Mutant Scientist so far, but I'm not really sure what the best weapons/strategy against her would be. Also with Meatslab, I know borrowing a Cronus Blade is recommended for beating him, but not sure what else. I think my pet is close to having good enough stats to beat him with the right weapons, but it's been a while since I've looked at any of the guides.

I think Natasha is the most important one to buy because all the challengers that steal weapons Natasha is great against.

I almost never actually use The Ether, Ornate Hooked Swords, Dark Goddess Rod. Blade of bonfire is straight trash.

I would say the most important god weapons are ME, MW, Swash, and Natasha.

I might be a little biased against OHS since I have a Tainted keeper skull staff and it seems like a lot of the challengers that do earth also do dark.

I only recently bought Ether and OHS and got along for a while without them, but when I did need physical and earth defense, I was sorely needing them.
