This was fun! I started off trying to do something other than a pirate...and ended up with an undead pirate. Oh well, I like how it turned out and had fun, so I guess that's a win :D

Private Outfit I wanted to pull up a story for this guy, but my inkwell is running low right now. In short, he needs no map to his designated 'x marks the spot' as he had the proper chart inked onto his skin in his youth. Now whenever he has fresh treasure to bury, or when he needs to haul some up, he takes his ship out on a dark night and rows out to the hidden caverns of the abandoned island. Any pesky wildlife in his way gets a taste of his bartered merfolk knife kept close under his coat.

Here's my entry! This is my first contest and I was working on it really hard because I wanted to portray my inspiration for it well 😅 Well here it goes!

My HA is based on Ching Shih (1775-1844), a female pirate from Guangdong, China. Ching Shih became one of the most successful pirates in history and lead The Red Flag Fleet in the South China Sea. She joined The Red Flag Fleet in 1801 and eventually commanded at least 1,700 ships and over 500,000 pirates.

Because she remained undefeated for so long, the Chinese government decided to offer amnesty to all pirates hoping to end the reign of "The Terror of South China" as they called her. Ching Shih then successfully negotiated that in exchange for retiring from piracy she would keep all of her loot!
