WHEEE!!! NEW profiles!!!! Testing them out on Regan n' Conduct :)

Hi! I'm not sure if you check this at all anymore, but firstly, thank you so much for these! I've really just started getting back into things, and would love to make my kids presentable haha. I just have one question though, and I hope it's a simple one! I scanned this thread and someone has done it, but I couldn't find their code. Is it possible to add a 5th tab to the tabbed profile, like the one you have for Caquex? Again, thank you so much! I hope real life has been treating you kindly. :)

Hey there! Thanks, I'm glad you like the profiles! I definitely do still check this board, I just am prone to missing pings, then getting overwhelmed if I have multiple things to reply to. A vicious and unfortunate cycle, and my decision to just procrastinate on replies until I got directly asked a question was... not very well-thought-out haha.

So I had to reupload this elsewhere because Pastebin is very strange (apparently my profile code gets screened as potential inappropriate content by their filters?), but here's the 5 tab version of the profile! I thankfully still had it saved on my computer. I added a bit to remove the legacy name into the chunk of code that hides stuff, just so you're aware! link to code

Okay so most of your pets are hidden on your profile from what I can see, but your active pet did pop up when I hovered your username so I snooped and wanted to say that I love how you customized Labyrinth's profile, ahh, it looks so good ;; I'm so glad you like the layout so much!

Such a belated reply from me but this feedback is seriously the best I could ask for. ❤ I'm really glad that you find them easy to customize and understand! My whole reason for this was to get some freebies up and available for people to use and encourage more people to work on more pets, so I'm really, really happy to hear that they're relatively easy to use. c:

Oh man I am so sorry for not replying to this message sooner, because I distinctly remember Casey winning spotlight and being struck by that. Such a precious, precious tribute pet. ;; I'm really glad that my templates helped you out, honestly it just... it makes me more than a little emotional to see my little template used for something like a tribute to such an obviously beloved pet.

I am so sorry to bug you, but I can't figure out how to darken/change the text for the spotlight text on the 2021 Dropdown sidebar.

Maybe I am missing something?
I find it very faint and hard to read, I'm not sure if it is my screen saturation or not, but when you get around to not being busy a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oh, yeah, now that I'm looking at this, most of the other text in that font and at that size is bold, I think? I should have probably made that bold as well since it's a pretty thin font and I definitely see what you mean. You can add [tt].pet_spotlight{font-weight: bold}[/tt] to make it more legible, or experiment with a different font than Poiret One, or use [tt].pet_spotlight{color: red}[/tt] if you do want the spotlight to be a different color from everything else. I should probably go back and change this when I have a chance -- thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I do have an issue that you may be able to help with, but not specific to your templates. How can I hide/remove the legacy name, AND how can I reposition it? Some pets I want to just hide it (but not remove it in the bath) and the coding on all your old ones naturally don't have the legacy name repositioned.

Ugh yes that reminds me that I really need to go back and update them, it's just been hard to find the motivation to go through and change everything orz; So to remove the legacy name, you can add this to the CSS: [tt].legacy-name{display: none}[/tt] When it comes to the positioning... different layouts use different kinds of positioning, and I think the most universal way to do it would probably be something like .legacy-name{position: relative; top: 5px; left: 5px} And then just tweak the values as needed. Let me know if that doesn't work or anything!

They are both finished. Aside from Regan's story but that's here nor there for her. ^_^

I love how easy and simple your profiles are to work with! I have a bit of a question: is there a way to get tabs in the txt-part of the simple, centered one-column profile? So that the look of the txt box changes depending on which tab you click?

I love the colors you used on Regan's profile so much, and I love Conduct's whole profile - the background, colors, story, and friend blurbs, they're just.. all so good. What a cool pet!

Gotcha! So doing those kinds of tabs on pet profiles is definitely possible, but due to some coding limitations on Subeta, it's a little trickier to pull it off that way. The way I did it is through what people call a 'checkbox hack'. It's trickier to do but has the benefit of not making the page 'jump' to the div in question, so it would definitely be preferable to alternate ways of doing tabbed layouts. The only way I've ever been able to get it to work fully is to store the completed CSS for the tabs elsewhere (I usually upload it to my Dropbox), then import it into the pet profile. Anyhow, did you have something in mind in particular for how it looked, or did you want to just have it look like the tabs on my user profile?

:) Hi! I believe I've used one of your profiles on one of my other pets, and I was inspired today to work on another. I had some questions (probably more, but these are the ones in my head right now).

• You showed STAY how to remove the legacy name. Is there a way to make it show up in the stats area? Or would we need to just type it in and use the remove legacy showing code? (and would just typing in the legacy be against subeta rules..?)
• Is there a way to show books read, food eaten and their job somewhere? (i guess in the stats area..?)

Something similar to the tabs on your user profile. I'm fine with it if it's really basic and minimalistic, even a linked -I- and -II- would be enough.

Dagoth Ur has a cool poem on his pet profile but it isn't original content. If I want to have him spotlight-ready then he needs some stuff I've written myself, but I really like the look of the poem just by itself, instead of having more text below the poem when you scroll down. What I'm imagining is that on the spot where the poem is now, there's two buttons or links above for -I- and -II-. Underneath, you see the poem and if you click on -II- you don't see the poem but a different text. And if you click on -I- you see the poem again and not the different text. Unfortunately I find it really hard to wrap my head around coding, especially when it comes to setting it up from scratch.

Yup, those are definitely doable (and I don't think typing in the legacy name yourself would be against Subeta rules unless you misrepresent it?), but since space is a bit limited on this profile layout, I just need to ask real quick before I start editing the stats section - was this pet going to have a minion or anything? It would probably be easiest to have the food eaten, pet job, etc. where the minion usually goes, or I could maybe get rid of the stat bars and kind of smoosh everything together, aha.
