its alright.. kinda frustrated i only have 3 chicks out of like almost 30 eggs :(

Oh no D: the rest aren't going to hatch?

i don't know, gonna give them until thursday and then i will candle them and see if i can see movement. i did see someone who had ducklings hatch a week later then normal. i was just hoping that having a full incubator i would be overrun with chicks hatching but nope. one yesterday and he didn't get a buddy until this morning when i woke up at 3ish i think and there was a 3rd but he needed to stay in and dry.. just put him in with the others just now. the 2nd to hatch was one of mine and holy crap are mine big compared to the ones i bought. have a dozen that weren't even fertile so disappointed about that.. will only be doing mine next batch.

Then you reduce the costs for eggs so that's good :)

still i need about 9 chicks at 5 each to be able to break even on what i spent on these ones :/ mine i can sell for 7 though but people want my easter egger chicks more and the one that has hatched is a buff orpington.. from the hen i lost.

no, still related to my roo and i will be keeping him until at least next spring. i have the two chicks which are orpingtons.. a splash and a blue. hoping for more chicks so i can think about keeping some but i'm not if i don't get more then 10-15.. need money more as in august after the reunion i want to get a dozen blue laced red wyandottes to hatch and keep to grow out. will keep the hens and sell the roos. have my eye on someone with an unrelated roo but not sure he will be available then.. hoping. i wanted to do ducks but my egg turners only holds chicken eggs and i'm not sure i would be good at doing the turning, LOL

It is a different ball game that's for sure. My sister raised quail for a while and their turner was tiny

yea, i can get one for quail but thats yet, no duck, or goose turners. i want a cabinet incubator but that cost a lot. i want to do button quail.. so cute.

ours was a light green but then we got a blue egg layer too. Never heard of an egg turner but wish we would have had one lol. I miss living on the farm but my age and health just doesn't tolerate stuff like that anymore.

i can eat my own animals if that is what they're for but i don't think i could ever do my own butchering

I couldn't butcher anything. I love animals but I can eat them. I wont kill them either like hunting. My husband has been working on me but haven't been able to do it yet

i don't like guns.. to afraid to even shoot one. the most i can do is hold one
