This is odd. I tested it just now and got the same results. It doesn't matter if stacking is on or off - the locked copy simply does not show.

Tested this again, and I noticed that it's not necessary always the locked item that shows -- if you have "show categories" enabled and then click on the item, when the page reloads it will not show the locked one.
