I absolutely love the whimsical/magical style of your first ref (the butterfly/dog one), if that helps you know the style I am looking for. You don't have to include the backdrop, but I would love some stars or sparkles or something around him. As for the pose, I will leave that up to you. I am not huge on the pose he has now, so whatever you think will look best works for me! I hope this is enough info, I fell like I might be being vague!
