We had freezing rain today, on top of high winds. It was one of those days where you had to roll down the windows to punch the ice out. We also had to throw bird seed on the ground because our feeders were covered in ice. Fun day had by all.

sorta? i think our semesters start differently than US/UK, now's basically the end of the exam season for me i'm free till the 18th and then i start with lectures again but given my schedule isn't super bad i should be fine participating till the end C:

i'm sure it'll go smoothly, as soon as people realize there are group pings and the majority uses those instead of pinging individual users it'll be easy peasy~

i just hope people will join the groups fast enough so it's not just 5/6 of us running around

My semesters ran from September to December, then January to April. We got a week long break in October and February. I think that might be different from the US?

I do have a billboard running around. I checked some of the groups and there does a couple of new faces! I expect that most of people will join up from the directory though.

Last year, I recall, we were stalking the boards and pouncing on wranglers posts looking for people who pinged ten other people off the list of like thirty or something. Anyone who wants to do that still can: we're still going to have the wranglers to point out who needs biting, but if you do want to sign up to get pings, they're open to everyone and the subscriptions are self-managable!

... I really hope it works well.

edit: i agree, wranglers are still a good idea, we need someone to keep an eye out to make sure we're not missing anyone, but group pings will make everything 150% more effective. i'm really looking forward to it

It's just Ontario though. I haven't gone anywhere else, so I can't speak of what it's like in any of the other provinces. I assume it's similar, but I wouldn't know.

Some people just don't ping at all, so the wranglers are still necessary.

I think my job definitely has something to do with it. I hate having a degree and working part time a grocery store that has to make everything more complicated every two weeks.

yeah, stress has a Lot to do with it :S and a job like that..... i feel you, i don't have the best memories of working at a grocery shop, just....it's incredible how difficult people can be. both customers and coworkers and yeah, having a degree and knowing you could be working somewhere else...

can't directly relate to that one since im still working on it while my most of my generation graduated two years ago but ugh, so much for guaranteed employment after graduating huh >___<

It wasn't so complicated when I started six years ago (which is super long for retail). Now if I want to ask for a day off, I have to use a site that barely works when I just had to fill in a form previously. It's the last fucking straw. I could deal with the bad customers, that bad scheduling, but I'm so tired of having to jump through hoops to get the simplest shit done.

And yeah, not using my degree on top of all that BS. I still see my teachers in the store sometimes, and I know they had high hopes for me. : |

I was really hoping Survival would have started by now - had today off work, so would have had lots of time to help with early biting, but I'm away from tomorrow until Thursday and internet access is going to be extremely intermittent :(
