I'm willing to use paid patterns - you will have to cover the extra cost, of course.
That pattern is on the large side (finished height 9in). I would prefer a smaller design if you have any alternatives, otherwise it'll be an expensive commission.
Could you also send me references for the markings and horns? I'll need to see them before I can decide whether I can add them to a specific pattern.
How cute! Yep, I can make a totoro or that fox.
Do you have like a go to site for patterns? I am definitely open to looking at others. And yes! Everything should be Here
I usually use ravelry.com. There are some other sites linked under the Example spoiler in my first post.
Which of the markings need to be included? The most challenging would be the spikes on the legs, and the color changes on the body (irregular black patch on the back and white on the stomach).
And what's the price range you have to work with? More customization would also cost more.
Stripes on the ears, muzzle, wrists, and then the horns. So the black saddle wouldn't work? I have no set budget right now, just trying to see what would work. Unless like maybe just the head. So the markings on the ears, muzzle and the two horns?
Can you make it look like Carbuncle from FFXV? Here's a gif lol.
Yep! Though I think I need to go buy some yarn in that color. I can replace all the orange with a blue, and add a little red felt on the forehead for the gem/horn.
I can do it for $22 or 2.6k csc, if that sounds okay?
I can do these pretty easily:
The harder things are:
Saddle is what the marking is called. But I am totally good with just doing the head. I can't find a pattern that has a big enough head though. Like so that way the horns don't look weirdly smushed
Ok, if you're willing to pay extra for a larger plush, we can work with that pattern.
Let's talk about colors and materials: The ref has a pretty specific shade of purplish grey-blue. The closest I have on-hand is some of this Red Heart's country blue.
For the other parts, I have plenty of plain white and black yarn. I also have some greys and beige/off-white if you prefer these instead.
I also have yellow plastic eyes on hand.
Anything I'm missing? I can buy more material if these don't work, but of course it's cheaper to use what I already have.
Yup those look good. I am thinking just the head now, but I haven't seen just a head pattern. It is also really up to what you feel comfortable doing. Again budget is not that big of an issue right now.
I would advise against trying to attach head from another pattern, since it'll be difficult to ensure the proportion of the head to the rest of the body is correct - given a pattern, it's hard to alter the size.
What do you dislike about the head in the etsy pattern? Depending on what it is, I can make small modifications such as tweaking the length of the snout, changing the size of the ears, and of course, tweaking the relative positions of the ears/snout/eyes, etc.
I am just thinking I want just the head. No body. Just focus on the markings that have the most meaning out them all which are ones on the ears and muzzle. Just like a larger head? Am I making sense?
Interesting idea! How big are you thinking off? The one in the pattern looks to be about 4~5in tall.
I could make a bigger version using the same pattern by using a thicker yarn or holding two strands of thinner yarn together, but the limiting factor there is I don't have even bigger plastic eyes, and felt eyes probably won't look as good.
[edit]If you're interested in just the head, this pattern might work as well: https://www.etsy.com/listing/467093829/pattern-wilson-the-wolf-pup-crochet-wolf
oh dang it, I missed the slots xD I'll stalk for an open one~
So what would it be for just the head of the first one? I feel the bigger muzzle makes it easier for markings that way.
It'll be $35, including U.S. shipping and the cost of the pattern.
I will purchase the pattern on my side now, and keep you posted on all progress.
