I think both sites have been "inspiring" each other for a while.

At least we can all agree that Subeta's artists are much more creative.

I had the same feeling when I saw the new colors, but their art remains inferior. They need to reinvent and creat better designs.

I have say good bye to Neopets years ago, but to be honest the gelert is great. It does me reminder to the Borg in Star Trek. LOL!

I sometimes take Subeta's art quality for granted, until I'm reminded of how superior it is to them LOL

I thought the Lenny was jelly coloured before the OP said otherwise. Also, that Gelert looks like someone's bad edit. Are these really official?

Ugly and soulless their art may be but the wraith and transparent colors are pretty neato.

I left that site years ago... pretty much decided to leave when they added insane amounts of impossibly hard to get items (unless you paid wretched amounts of real money) and gave barely anything to those who cannot afford their skyrocketed prices. Granted, Subeta does have their own specialty items in a similar vein (using CSC), but at least it isn't impossible to save up to buy it. Besides... I like the staff here way better (I don't get treated like just a number here) and (most of) the community is so much better!!

Right?! I go on to check stocks (actually a feature I wish Subeta would implement - I loooove stocks) and I'm like...why am I here, I could be doing something on Subeta XD And generally click back over :P

I do love my pets on there...but the art quality is still greatly lacking even for them

i wouldnt say copy cus steampunk is kind of a popular idea imo? anyway i dont like the new neopet colours after they standardised all the poses bc different colours just look so similar. like that other user said, the toy looks like jelly.

Subeta doesn't own the idea of steampunk and toy. I don't think their art is that bad either. I'm only here because I prefer human avatars over animal ones.

honestly origami is a pretty neat idea but looking at it on the gelert i feel like they're not really pulling it off very well?? like it would look really interesting if the paper had cool little designs or patterns on it but it's basically all just one solid color and it feels sorta bland.

quick off-topic comment but this made me log in to my account for the first time in years and does the site seriously have issues with the basic action of viewing user and pet profiles now or something?? i keep getting directed to a page that says "Our meepits are diligently (or so they say) working to connect you to your page..." in between viewing them and sometimes it goes as far as making me do a captcha test to continue like i know the site's gone downhill over the years but holy hell

Sorry, not sorry, but with the amount of resources they have, you'd think neopets could hire decent artists.

Ugh their version is all about painting and pounding the pets for the clothes.
