Hi! I think I know what you mean by having to guess where things go on the page? I find it helpful to think of the page like a quadrant. (From math class?!) So there is a cross on the page with a line going vertical and horizontal, x and y. And where and how you move things will depend on the type of divs you're using, fixed, relative ect. W3schools has some good tutorials and i thought this was helpful! But yes, pretty much, when you change the numbers to position an element it will move according to where it is (x or y) on the page. (in relation to where/what kind of positioning used.)
