“You have an artistic elephant??” Drew asked Magnus with a surprised smile. “Now this I’ve got to see. And I’m good with having another castle,” he grinned. “Maybe we can make it large enough that we have stables too and I can bring Fleet with me.”

Drew smiled as Zoe seemed to like the name for his fwooper. Then he shook his head and said teasingly, “Nope, can’t blame the tempting on me. It’s not my fault that they have all these awesome animals.” With a grin, he said, “I like the name Lewis, especially once you explained why you picked that one. I love the Narnia books and have them all. The Horse and His Boy is one of my favorites in the series. I know what you mean about the first time in Diagon Alley. Mum might be a witch and I’d been around magic a bit, but being from Virginia in the states I wasn’t really prepared for the full immersion as Dad says. But I’m so glad to be immersed now!” He laughed and then said, “That’s really sweet that Nimah bought the niffler for you. Magnus bought me a crup as a late Christmas present, but now I have to pick it out and pass the test.”

"Of course you can, just get your butt over to me ouse and you can play with 'er," Magnus said with a light elbow. "Well wouldn't mind bringing Jackson meself. We gotta ride together too."

"Yeah, I guess not," Zoe said. "Though I guess the price will help me refrain. Ye like Narnia, that's great. I didn't like Caspian, it was really kinda dark and sad and a lot more fighting. America sounds exotic. Ye'll have to tell me about it some time. Aye, I love the magical world too. Gonna name my new toad Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Aww that's a great gift. Well, l will let ye find yer pal."

Drew grinned at Magnus and nodded. “I’ll come over as soon as I can,” he promised. “And I forgot you had a horse now too. Yes, we’re going to have to go riding and exploring. Maybe even camp somewhere overnight if the weather’s nice enough.”

“I agree about Caspian,” Drew said to Zoe. “And America is…well, it’s different from here. There’s good and bad to both I know, but I’ve really enjoyed it here so far. And sure, I’ll tell you all the tales I know…and then make up a few,” he laughed. “Alice is a cool name. You could come with us to the crups if you’d like,” Drew offered as he’d finished paying for the fwoopers. “And after the animals I’m going to find the books…and anything else that catches my fancy.”

"Good Drew," Magnus said playfully petting Drew's head. "Yeah that sounds fun!"

"I'd like that. Er, lemme see if Jona would like to come. I do nee want him to feel left out. Aye I'm gonna go to the books too and see what else I can affo.." she stopped and changed the word to, "find."

Zoe hopped over to Jona and asked, "Hey, ye wanna to see the crups with Drew and Magnus or wanna look at other animals?"

She had grown attached to the creature, and it felt very special to share the moment with and especially Drew (). Giving him one last long scratch down his neck, she waved goodbye to the Mooncalf. Paddy and Drew collected their sketching materials and they all left the building.

The gift shop was an unexpected wonder. Poppy usually didn’t care for them because she had little desire to amass cheap souvenirs that just gathered dust. This shop was beautiful though, and the items for sale were neither chintzy nor overpriced. She thought carefully about what she would purchase, paying mind to her spending budget.

Poppy selected a bag of bunny treats for Biscuit, an illustrated edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a Mooncalf plushie for her bed, and a moving figurine of a Crup. She paid and thanked the sweet witch behind the checkout counter who let her leave her things there. Before they all went home, Poppy wanted to play with the little Crup that looked like a Siberian Husky again. She only had one pet in contrast to what seemed like many of her peers. Her mother didn’t care for pet hair and dander, even claiming to be allergic. It had been her father who had given her a baby bunny for her tenth birthday.

As she was shopping, she bumped into Lysandra () and Mallowsweet () and properly introduced herself to them. Zoe () and Jona () were perusing the many pets for sale. It seemed like many of her peers were taking advantage of the opportunity to add to their personal menageries. Paddy’s eyes were aglow with all there was to purchase. Drew and Magnus were over by the Crups.

Lysandra was happy to meet some of her fellow students. It looked as though the magical cats were in meditation now anyway so she was delighted to visit the menagerie where the pets for sale were cared for, many of them performing funny or artistic exercises. Would her cat Frida be comfortable with a new friend? Perhaps something really tiny? "Poppy, are you pondering to adopt a new pet, too?" she asked, clearly contemplating this idea herself.

My bunny Biscuit might not like me giving attention to a ‘new family member’ either,” Poppy laughed. “The pets and things here are so lovely and it is tempting though. "A second cat would be awesome yet I would always ask Frida for her consent and would take her with me to meet her new companion first, so a cat is out of the order today. Perhaps a Pygmy Puff? I love them in light pink!" Lysandra giggled, imagining Frida rolling the little Puff around. They were so cute, though, and very hard to resist.

Mallowsweet looked up from the large basket she was cradling as poppy introduced herself. "Hello" she said after introducing herself in return, "This is Kerran" The kneazle raised his head at his name and looked at poppy intently, then purring loudly he rolled onto his back and waved his paws at her. "I guess he likes you." Mallosweet laughed. Outfit Not Found

Drew gave Magnus a playful woof at the pat and grinned at his friend. He was in high spirits now and hoped they would have time to fully explore and buy all they wanted.

Smiling when Zoe said she’d like to see the crups, he gave a little nod at the fact that she wanted to bring Jona. Drew also exchanged a look with Magnus as Zoe hopped off. The dark haired boy hadn’t missed the girl’s almost slip about being able to afford things. Well, Drew would certainly keep an eye on things and if his fellow book lover couldn’t afford something, she might wind up with a surprise gift anyway.

As Zoe was consulting with Jona, Drew took a moment to look around. He spotted Mallowsweet holding a basket and smiled and waved, glad to see that she had found a furry friend. When he caught her attention, he beckoned her over, hoping that she’d join them for a last look around the pet section before heading to the other part of the shop.

When Poppy came over to play with the crups, Drew grinned and said teasingly, “Poppy and the puppy. You and Biscuit need a new friend and protector, Poppy.” Though from the way the little crup was licking all over Poppy’s hand anyone would more likely be in danger of drowning in puppy kisses then being ferociously attacked.

Niamh sat watching Thumper and the kitten playing. Any time the kitten got too close, Thumper transformed into a top hat, which made the kitten back off again. "I think you two would get along great," she said happily as the kitten's fur changed to a fudge-like colour. "And that's the perfect name for you, Fudge." Picking them both up, she grinned at River. "I would look at the Fwoopers, but once I've got this kitten and got toys for these two, I doubt I'd have enough left for one of those as well. Want a hand to pick some toys for your new budgie?"

Magnus was happy Drew was in good spirits, he was as well. He nodded at Drew’s glance, understanding what it meant, his friend would likely be gifting the girl something.

Rather than waiting too long for poor Jona to decide, Zoe gently lead him over to the crups figuring they didn’t have to stay too long. She was happy with all the animal choices. Zoe saw Mallowsweet had animal too. She waved to the centaur teen as she passed. She smiled at Poppy. “Ye like ‘em too huh?”

“Great, well I’m buying your kitty so you have funds free,” River said smirking. “Let’s go look at the fwoopers and then pick out toys.” She dragged Nimah off to the fwoopers where River picked out three. One pink, one lime green and one yellow. She hummed happily as she flagged down someone to take the licence test.

“Exactly,” Magnus said, “I can’t ‘ave my babies miserable. I’ll help you come up with names. Glad you passed.”

Zoe smiled Paddy. “Isn’t she great? I love her. Want me to show ye were they are?” Then she spotted Lysandra heading to the puffs. “Oh ye getting a puffskein?” she asked.

((OOC: Sorry for missing the last few creatures! This week has been a bit hectic. Just pretend Keet and Rain enjoyed the last few critters, and their lunch ;) ))

Keet and Rain were looking forward to the gift shop, they had both brought all of their savings along in anticipation. They were excited most by the pet part of the gift shop, hoping to add a pet or two to their collections. Both of them immediately ran over to the section with the birds. "What about this one?" Keet asked, pointing to a cute pink fwooper that was fluffed up, preening its feathers. Rain smiled, "It's really cute! I am not sure if I would be as good at keeping up with the silencing charm as you are, though," she said, concerned. "I do love the color...Ooo!" she gasped, spotting the flamingos. "These are lovely, I don't think even my mom would mind if I added one of them to the aviary," she grinned. "Oh, they are beautiful, and almost as pink as the fwooper," Keet laughed. Rain went over to the pen to see what their temperaments were like. One of them looked at her curiously, and slowly walked over to check out the newcomer. Rain held out her hand, and the flamingo bumped it with her beak, then turned her head for Rain to scratch it. Rain obliged happily, "I think this one likes me, Keet," she grinned. "You look like a Zinnia, I think," she smiled, still petting the sweet bird. "Now she has to go home with you, you gave her a name," Keet giggled.

While Rain bonded with the flamingo, Keet continued to look at the other birds. Since she already had a few feathered friends, and not as much space at home as Rain, she decided something small would be best. Some cute little blue speckled birds playing on a tree perch caught her eye. "Jobberknolls!" she exclaimed in a whisper, not wanting to frighten them. Her wand core was a jobberknoll feather, so naturally, she had a bit of an affinity for the birds. She walked over to the tree perch where they were fluffing and preening their feathers, saying quietly, "hello, pretty birds, aren't you sweet?" One of the jobberknolls cocked its head to the side, eyeing her. It hopped closer, looking at Keet quizzically. She held out her finger, "Did you want to step up?" she asked. The bird hopped onto her finger, much to Keet's delight. It then flew up to her shoulder, making itself quite at home. "Hey Rain, look!" she said quietly. Rain turned around, she had still been petting the flamingo. "Nice Keet, I think that one wants to go home with you," she giggled. Keet looked at the little bird on her shoulder, "Is that true? Did you want to go home with me?" she asked the little bird. The jobberknoll fluffed up in response, and tucked its head under its wing, hoping for a nap. "Well I guess that settles it," she chuckled quietly.

After spending some time with their new feathered friends, Keet and Rain made their way to the sales desk, and approached the friendly looking witch there. "Excuse me, ma'am, but we are interested in some of your birds," Keet said nodding to the sleeping Jobberknoll on her shoulder. "And I have some questions about that flamingo," Rain said, pointing to the one she had already named Zinnia. "What kind of supplies does she need to go home with?"

"Hello," the lady known as Dedra said, "what can I help you ladies with? Ah, yes flamingos are so sweet aren't they? Well, depends on where you'll keep them, of course, but you'll want a sunning area, place for nesting which is out of mud. Generally about 1.4 square meters or 15 square feet for each flamingo. They'll need a pond or somewhere to wade. And if its outside, in the winter, she'll need to be in a shelter, like a chicken coop. Now they are a colony bird, but the ones we sell will be okay on their own as long as they have a lot of other socialization from other birds or you. They'll want plants and trees around them for shade and enrichment. They won't mind ducks, geese or other aquatic birds but make sure they get food. You may have to do wing clipping if its in your back garden with no coverage otherwise she'd fly away. But once her feathers grow back, if she's happy, she'll stay. Or you can use a net, so the can fly but only so high. You can also provide balls for toys. One's with holes allow you to put food in and have her have to fish it out."

Niamh stared at River, "hang on, did I hear that right, you're paying for Fudge? Thank you!!" She grinned madly as her friend dragged her over to the Fwoopers and laughed as River picked out three for herself. As she looked at them, an orange Fwooper seemed to be staring right at her. Niamh tilted her head to one side, and the Fwooper did the same. Paddy waited for River to find someone for the licence test, ready to ask to take the test herself as well, providing they felt the Fwooper would be an ok companion for three cats and a bunny.

"I don't think I could get one of those myself," Paddy replied, "Mum isn't too keen on amphibians and reptiles ever since she saw Uncle's collection of toads and snakes one summer when I was little. I do need to get a couple of books though," she added, carrying her Crup towards the other end of the gift shop. She picked out a couple of Crup Care books, a Mooncalf figurine and a large plush Crup which she planned to charm so it couldn't get chewed by either of her pups. Picking up the toenail clippers, she figured that would be a great novelty gift for her Uncle. "That just leaves the toy for you," she said to the Crup as she headed back towards the pet section to see what toys they had.

"Mhm," River said happily. "You're welcome! Happy Christmas."

By the time Irwin came over River had five fwoopers. One in every colour and extra in green. "I'd like to take the test and get licensed please." He put her to the test and she passed so he handed her the forms to fill out. "Nimah wants the test too," River said grinning. River then spotted the jobberknolls and picked one out for herself. It was a good thing she had her father's vault's information with her, she'd just have everything billed to him. So she went and picked out cages, supplies and toys. She had everything slipped into Magically extended bags and left those at the counter as she went to look at the other goodies. She picked a mooncalf plushie up for herself and one for Tamsin, as well as several books and puzzles. Once done she bought herself a no melt ice cream and sat with her many bags waiting patiently and watching her fellow students.

"Ah," Zoe said, "lucky for me, Mum do nee mind animals." Zoe glanced back over at the fwoopers wondering...

Smiling as Zoe came over, Jona in tow, Drew turned his attention to the crups. They were all so cute! Bouncing on each other and bowling a smaller pup over. How was he ever going to decide? He entered the area and immediately was surrounded. Laughing, he petted the crups…a black one, a brown one, one with spots and a patch over his eye, a rust colored one. Drew sighed. Then he felt a tug and looked down to see a tan and white pup valiantly attempting to untie his shoelace. Grinning, he wiggled his foot. The crup jumped back, then gave a yip, and attacked again. “Hey there, that’s mine you know,” Drew said, squatting down to pet the puppy. The little crup barked and licked Drew’s fingers.

When the spotted crup came over for more attention, the tan and white one gave a little growl and pushed between Drew and his pen mate. “Oh…going to defend me now?” Drew asked with a chuckle. “Or are you just jealous and don’t like sharing?” The crup yipped and bounced, trying to reach Drew’s face. “Alright, alright, kiss time,” Drew gave in and knelt a bit lower. He promptly had half his face washed with a little pink tongue.

“Let’s see how you do when it’s just you and me,” Drew said and picked up the crup to carry over to the bonding area. He sat on a bench inside the area and put the crup down. His shoes became a victim again and Drew decided to try a few things. He said no in a stern voice and the pup stopped and looked at him, a bit confused at the change in tone. He attacked the shoe again and again Drew told him no, not moving the shoe away, just seeing how the pup would react. The pup whined and sniffed at the shoe but then backed away and held up a paw with a pitiful expression.

Drew’s heart melted and he patted the bench beside him. The pup sprang up beside him and licked his hands as Drew petted him. “Just full of mischief but I forgive you,” Drew said. “I have a feeling you and Dodge would get along great.”

Seeing Irwin nearby and wondering if the man had been watching him, he smiled and waved. “Hey, Irwin…I think I might like to adopt this one.”

Magnus and Zoe watched as Drew played with the crups. Zoe thought they were all adorable but she just got Reggie so she knew other dog was out. "So cute," she said to Drew's choice.

Irwin came over. "Alright, gonna bring out a muggle 'dummy' and you'll have to keep the dummy from getting attacked. They get very angry with muggles." He brought out the dummy and the puppy was immediately growling.

Drew felt a moment of panic at Irwin’s words. His dad was a Muggle after all! Would he be able to convince the crup that muggles, especially his dad, were alright? As the crup started growling, Drew took a deep breath and said firmly, “No.” The crup paid no attention and started toward the dummy. Drew was worried now and tried whistling to get the pup’s attention. He lifted an ear and glanced at Drew. “That’s right…come here boy,” Drew called. He patted the bench and said, “Here…come on little mischief.” The crup whined briefly, unsure about things, but then turned back to the dummy with a growling bark.

He was going to fail, Drew thought. This wasn’t Dodger. This was a new pup…no a crup…who didn’t know him and his signals well enough and who was going to attack the dummy because he thought it was a muggle. Drew knew that scolding wasn’t the answer, or yelling. He had to find a way to divert the crup’s attention. Maybe…maybe he could do it by talking. In a soft, soothing voice he called again, “Here boy…come on…let’s play…it’s more fun than attacking…here little mischief lover…come play with Drew.” He gave another little whistle. The crup had looked over at Drew again as the boy started talking. He cocked his head and gave a half whine. The more Drew talked the more the pup listened and then started toward the boy. Drew kept his tone quiet and sing song as he praised the pup and wiggled his fingers. After a few more minutes, the crup bounded over to Drew and pawed at his leg. “Good boy,” Drew praised, ruffling the crup’s ears.

He glanced over at Irwin and said, “This is going to be harder than I thought. I’m going to have to introduce him to Dad slowly. And have toys ready to distract him and treats for rewards. Maybe he’ll take some of his cues from Dodger too,” he said hopefully.

Jona had nodded to Zoe when she suggested seeing the crups with the other guys. "I have some treats and a bed in mind that I think I'd like to bring back for Duncan. We can come back and buy it before leaving, okay?" So, he followed everyone out and watched as Drew dog whispered a crup into not attacking a fake muggle. He turned back to Zoe and said, "Okay I think I'm gonna go back and -" Jona put his hands in his pockets and stopped mid sentence. Eyes going wide, he looked Zoe straight in the eye at a total loss for words. "Uh..." And then he pulled out Clark the baby Niffler from his pocket. "How'd he get in my pocket??" Jona was whispering and holding the niffler close from view, afraid of being accused of stealing. "I don't even - like, what??"
