Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Luminaire and that your holiday season is going well. Don't forget to open your presents under your tree if you haven't yet! And start getting ready for the new year while you're at it. I for one am ready for this year to be over, and am hopeful that the coming year will be a better one.

I just got back to work yesterday fixing bugs. A few worth mentioning:

• I fixed a few places that would cut off your text if you had a greater than/less than sign. Notably: in comments/sCode previews, and your status as it shows up in the friend feed.

• The crypts random events got a small makeover, including normal-sized images hurrah!! They were showing up kinda teeny tiny before.

• Added item hovers back to the Pet Treasure Quickstock page, mostly so you can remove things from your wishlist on that page.

• Made the New Topic form alert you if you try to submit a new topic with a blank title or content. Shoutout to for necessitating this one :P

Anyway, I woke up kinda late today and I was like "holy heck it's Thursday already" but guess what, I love you guys so I managed to squeeze one new feature into this week's post: Collapsible forum sections! On the main forum page, you should now see a little "[collapse]" button to the right of each title. You can use this to collapse that entire section. This will be remembered by your browser (similar to how things like pet TC width and battle preselection are remembered) :)

(PS - I also took this chance to kill our old UI library here and make it use Bootstrap, so if it looks a little different, that is why.)

[li]Suggest Holiday Items - A lot of you guys have been posting on HOLIDAY 2018 suggestion threads and we appreciate it! I feel like the past year we've done really well with getting things you guys want while still infusing some lovely lore (hi melody items). We can't of course do all the things you guys suggest, but don't let that discourage you! <3 [li]Items to put back into circulation - and I check this a lot for holiday based things (or what we should throw in the Free Shop ;)). [li]Spelling and Grammar Issues - Keep reporting those item and page errors around site! I usually do a chunk of pages at once (same for items), so it might not be an immediate fix.

I hope to have Item Menus for GA testing before next Thursday (yay). I'm also working on making New Years as efficient as possible so everyone on staff can enjoy the night and hopefully not have to be on! It worked rather well for Luminaire (minus breaking trees for like two seconds by showing 2016 + 2017 gifts). I WISH I HAD MORE TO SHOW YOU GUYS but most of it is behind the scene stuff (like preparing the free shop ;) and preparing new year stuff ;) ;) and garden plot items making a comeback ;) ;) ;)).

now if you excuse me, i'm going to go live in my bathroom thanks to my lunch today giving me possible food poisoning. here's hopin 2018 is less garbage bye

Thanks for your feedback! I'm discussing it with some of our more design-oriented staffers now to see if we can improve on that :)

We were afraid of that - we had a LOT of discussion about how to handle those subforums haha. We'll take any feedback into account, if it's really too hard to read for most users we'll see about changing it somehow.

I think it is a cache, yeah. Some forum settings are being tweaked right now because is working on getting Forum Pulse to work again without breaking anything. So that will definitely be addressed moving forward, even if the cache is a bit sticky right now.
