Where to even begin?

I guess where it all started. No ping because I don't know what their username was, and they were only on Subeta for a brief time. But I need to thank a family member who started me at Subeta because she was soooo excited that they had a computer version of The Towers of Hanoi math puzzle and insisted that I get online and play Mystic Spindles. :-)

Then there's @ shylarah who kept telling me all about Wayward Squirrel and finally decided that I needed to play too. Despite your intensity I really did enjoy sharing all the puzzles with you that first year.

@ GreenRowan - who writes such amazing stories and then shares them with all of us, and who, along with her judges does so much work to run Wayward Squirrel and Nutsy Nefarious Nights and then gives each and every participant, not just the winners, amazing prizes. It always feels like we should be giving you the prizes instead.

@ Hamda - whose team of one amazed me my first Wayward Squirrel and the best Nutsy teammate possible.

(no ping by request) who I now have a long running constant chat with. You are make such beautiful things (with love) and you care so much about your friends with whom you are always so incredibly generous. And I admire the many skills you bring to Wayward Squirrel.

@ Xeim - who is no longer around but was my first new Subeta friend. You are missed.

As is [-Guru] who was always such a kind and generous teammate in more recent events. You were always there with something nice to say to anyone on the event boards and to help out in any way you could.

And @ Cobaltbluetoo - we used to chat all the time until life took over. I know you still visit Subeta and I think about you and hope that you are doing well.

Then there is the entire battle community - such a welcoming,, supportive and generous group of people on a site known for those qualities. @ Kevin who got me started (and so many others as well), Subeta staff and that Troll for creating a community building battle puzzle that taught me so much about all the battlers. @ Naoto - who organized what turned out to be a really big group to beat the Troll, I hope your job turned out great and that you are enjoying whatever you do now. @ Kellijuana - the best list maker who really helped get all the needed data under control for the group. All the Beat the Troll group members who tested weapons day after day to find winners and who all learned to share those wins with each other. You were amazing! I saw people buying suddenly outrageously overpriced weapons just to loan or give to a relative stranger so they could also get their Troll wins. And every single weapon loaned (and no collateral was ever even asked for ) was promptly returned when the Troll had been defeated. @ MrCool who I never knew but who left a legacy of battle guides that are the first reference that I (and so many other battlers) look to for help - even today. @ Julie who challenged me to just try doing daily Battle Quests to see my EXP grow and @ Silvy (the best Battle Quest partner) who helped me meet my initial goal of doing them every single day for a full month and who still encourages me to get them done. @ bonita who decided I needed to have a Perilous Whirlpool Scroll when I started collecting spell ingredients and who tries to keep the Ice King from making me crazy. :-) @ Wesker (one of my two battle buddies) who challenged me to just try to beat that next bigger hydra - then figured out a strategy and a weapon list and then loaned me what she could (and then to the rest of the battle community who loaned - and in a few cases gifted - me an entire armory full of weapons to try). Fighting that hydra is where I really became a part of the battle community. @ Maskros - (my other battle buddy) who is always so generous with both her advice and her battle equipment. I love that you always try to figure out a more affordable way to beat a challenger to share with others who don't own all the expensive battle things. @ OaZuoM - my good battle friend who started my scroll set and is always so quick to encourage or support when needed and to celebrate every achievement. I love that we are now friends and I also love seeing you create all the many amazing HAs. @ Archer - for your gift to a stranger and for then also pinging me to the thread where I got my much loved AoN. @ Noodle who after a long time on Subeta decided to leave, but first spent the time to carefully give away a whole pile of very expensive and hard to get battle stuff to try and encourage remaining battlers. @ SAILOR - who (even though a total stranger then) talked me into using that scary spork against the Gelatin Wizards - then bought one just to loan to me, and afterwards sent it to me as a celebration gift! @ KiaArra - who decided I needed to make that helmet NOW and sent the components to make it possible. @ Virus - who never fails to say something encouraging and supportive on the Battle Chat thread. who can make me laugh and who I will never ever catch at Reflection. :-) And so many others. I have learned so much from everyone on the Battle Chat thread. And you are all a big part of every single success I manage in the Battle Coliseum.

To the Sharks who have welcomed me (and so many others). Special mention to - who really REALLY loves Christmas and to who is in charge of the Empty Tree Gifters - a group that finds trees that aren't full and makes sure to fill them so no one feels left out or uncared for on Christmas when those trees open. And to all the Empty Tree Gifters who work very hard to get that job done. (I invite anyone interested to join us - Empty Tree Gifters HERE

- whose programming skills I really admire, who always listens to and thinks about the users, and who has done so much to improve Subeta in such a short time. And I still can't believe you managed to implement the impossible damage counter overnight! Many thanks for all you do. And to your sprint partner who spends so much time interacting with Subeta users and so much more helping make Subeta the wonderful place it is. And to all the rest of the Subeta staff who do so much everyday to give us all this home away from home. And a very special thank you to for starting it all in the first place and then having the talent to keep it going for so long.

And, finally, for hosting a Compliment Giveaway (what a fabulous idea)! And who understands that Subeta really is all about the people.

Wow!! No matter what happens with this giveaway going forward, just participating has already made me a winner because looking back at this list has reminded me yet again, how very fortunate I am to have found Subeta and to be able to spend my time here with so many special people.

I know we haven't talked much but you have always been so sweet and I love the cute HAs you make! :) I also think it's awesome that you take color suggestions for your rum cakes (can't wait to see what you come up with next!).

You are such a talented artist and it's really neat to see the events that you coordinate (like the monthly CW box). You have always been so kind and generous and your HAs are gorgeous! Subeta would not be the same without you!

I didn't start talking to you until you made this thread last year and I'm so glad that you did! I know we don't talk much, but you are such a thoughtful and generous person and I'm really thankful to be able to call you a friend. I'm glad you're back and I hope you stick around for a while!

Just wanted to say your HAs are always so creative and well put together. I'm jealous of your HA making skills and I love seeing what you come up with!

My paternal grandfather, whom the family usually saw at Christmas, passed at the start of the month. Many wonderful people on Subeta have helped during this challenging time.

I'm thankful for the friends that shared words of comfort & support. Different time zones, countries, etc. don't matter as Subeta brings us all together.

Grandpa encouraged others to smile... I'm thankful for the distractions others provided that have helped pass time whereby grief overwhelmed.

Although I planned on helping others, in honour of my grandfather, who was the type that enjoyed helping others in need, I've done a few extra things. I'm thankful for others that I could help out. Letting others help & give is just as much a present as receiving a gift.

The truth is, I've already thanked everyone & let them know how I feel... cuz that's the type of person I am. However, there are some that might be interested in this thread (that haven't been pinged already), so I'll ping them.

True strength is letting those you care about see the tougher times & let them be there for you... thanks for being there. xoxox

I want to thank you for teaching me how to beat 2048! I didn’t think it would ever be possible but with one simple hint on how to do it I have beat it more than once now, well maybe only twice! Thanks to you I got the achievement! I also enjoy chatting with you ^^

Or when I got those cute little subeta charms and mine arrived with a personal response from you. You (and your children of course) are a constant ray of sunshine in my life. You (and I suppose Keith :P) are the reason that I am still active on the site 10 years later. I have always felt comfortable around you and I trusted you so much that I went to a meetup...something I never thought I would do. I was so glad to meet you and can't imagine not having you around to rant to and laugh with. And even though you are ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY, I am still honored to be friends.

You went through the same cruddy mess that I did over on neo. I am so very glad that we both found this site. That means that I didn't lose a great friend due to a horrible situation. You are a gem!

I met you in the Art Market (I think..right? MINE CAKES) and have had the privilege of getting to know you both on and off site (and in person!). You are a wonderful and caring person. And to boot I get to see you here a lot because of Wizarding! Here is to many more years!!

We have known each other for a while now but so much has happened over the past I dunno around 2 years and I have gotten to know you better. You are such a special and super cool person and I am so glad I get to work with you. You do so much and a lot of it is behind the scenes. The site is lucky to have you and I am lucky to have you as a friend.

Pie what can I say? One of these days I am just going to book a plane to Canada and meet you (and bring Zoey of course). There are some people that you have a friendship online and you just know that they are even cooler in person. You are a rock star!

I had always known you as the staff member, but I am super glad I got to know you more over the past few years. You are always helpful and sweet and just an overall pleasant person to be around. I can count on you to listen and I hope I am an ear for you as well. It has been wonderful seeing Dyl grow up so fast!

I know we don't get to talk much lately but I still count you among my wonderful friends and I think you are a lovely person.

What can I say? I have really learned that "thou shalt no click any of Ariel's links" after that first one in irc and it has been a wild rollercoaster knowing you. But I like rollercoasters so I wouldn't have it any other way. You were my first co-mod and I just love seeing your outrageous and funny FB posts.
