Depends on your definition of 'familiar'. I haven't played it since 2nd or 3rd gen on GBC or GBA or something, and I have never seen the cartoon or movies. Asking me to draw a pokemon is fine, but I don't have any familiarity beyond knowing about game mechanics that are 20 years out of date.
