Brussels sprouts

Holy crap, Brussels sprouts. I was at the store the other day and they had this temporary rack right up front with a bunch of pre-bagged produce, you know the way they often do when stuff is just starting to get a little too old so they gather it up into discount bundles. And they had a bunch of big bags of Brussels sprouts, and to be honest, they did look a little limp, which added to my assumption they were on sale. Marked $2.99. Great deal, even if they're a little less fresh than usual; that's fine.

They weren't on sale. That was $2.99 per pound. I bought over $12 worth of Brussels sprouts. Slightly limp ones. Damn it. And now I have so many Brussels sprouts to eat. I'm usually more careful than that but I feel this was a particularly deceptive store display.

Peet's Coffee, holiday blend It's so good, I'd never had any Peet's before this! (With good reason, it's more expensive than most coffees, and I got shafted on this bag I did buy, actually, because it was listed on the shelf as one price, but then they charged me regular price for it, jerks; it's good coffee, though, so it IS worth what I paid, at least, I'd have been well peeved if it hadn't been good coffee.)
