So much support.

There is an extension called Dark Reader. I don't understand why the site needs it when there are extensions for browsers. Just because the site is dark doesn't mean the other tabs will be. An extension is uniform for browsing.

Because a good number of us play across multiple devices which renders extensions useless. Most mobile browsers don't support extensions and then there's the section of the userbase that plays on computers they can't modify (library, school, or work computers). A night mode or a dark coloured theme would be much more useful.

The site is going to be blocked on school computers. And if it isn't it will be in the future. IT is pretty strict with website access. Use plugins on your own pc. And I'm sure there is something on mobile too. Though the site doesn't work much on mobile anyway. It is a hassle to program a site for different devices. Plus there are different mobile browsers to code for and not all are supported on the OS of the phone.

Just... say you do not support the idea, because you think the site programmers have better things to do right now instead of giving weird/inaccurate blanket statements, hm? o_-

As for me, I def support it happening (realistically) somewhere in the future when the layout is much more uniform, I genuinely had no idea how badly all the white strained my eyes until it was gone :)

They do have better things to do. The site is buggy. Focus needs to be on the site. Not some method that can be covered by an already existing plugin.

Plus the layout hasn't been updated in years and it is starting to look off.

I'm not going to support something that is already covered by a browser extension for uniform browsing.

I would support a dark mode, it does hurt my eyes a bit, my other sites are all on dark mode so when I switch to subeta it's really jarring

I don't like installing too many extensions since they slow down the browser and can contain spyware

I love this idea! Even creating different site layouts would be cool, and having certain events or requirements/achievement prizes to unlock new ones!

100% here for a night mode, or even just a dark layout.

While a black background / white text option wouldn't actually help me (I'm light sensitive, but high contrast is utterly impossible for me, so black backgrounds are even worse than the white 😊), I would like there to be some new site layout colourschemes available which would hopefully help those who need particular combinations of colours (I know things can be changed in CSS but it's really not that easy to do, to make sure you get every single instance of a colour).

At the moment I have my computer monitor set to "warm" to tone down the brightness of the whites, but there's a lot of times when I really need it to show an accurate colour, so it's not ideal!

I have no idea how easy it would be to code in, but maybe a 'DIY' site theme where it just asks for a hex code for a colour for the background / text? Kind of like a WYSIWYG 'custom css' but without the coding requirement (given that not everyone is css-savvy).... that might help to give the range of colours to help more people than just the dark / night mode?

(but if all else fails, a night mode would help make the site more accessible)

a little "night mode" toggle in the corner of of the screen that you can flip back and forth easily would be great. another option would be being able to change what night mode is on your account when youre logged in, you could customize it for your eyes. this is a great idea and would make night play a lot easier thats for sure.

The little toggle switch is exactly what I was hoping for but an adjustment option would be great too.

I came here looking to make this exact thread so I'm glad it already exists, I would love to have a night mode version of Subeta or even just a layout with a dark background and light text that's easy on the eyes! I use night mode everywhere I can because it's so much easier to read no matter the time of day.

I was just about to make a Night Mode suggestion until I found this thread. Just echoing my support for this, as my eyes are photosensitive as well!
