This suggestion is very early!!

- I'm actually the artist of all the rag dolls.

We (the art team) also typically don't work on things so far in advance, so suggestions that are too early are likely to be either forgotten about or are going to not contain the best information for when we actually start drawing (for example, when the theme is related to pop-culture, we like to reference the most popular things of the current year)

- we find that from about 2 months ahead of the holiday right up to the holiday itself is the best time for suggestions, so definitely not too late for fireside! (We'll have some artists finish things early, and some times we'll just find that we can squeeze in a few more things than we'd planned, so it's only really too late to suggest for a holiday once the holiday has already started! (That being said, I believe there are already threads started for both holidays!)

- I don't think any this year were from a TV show, at least not originally. I suppose the alien had the biggest connection to X Files but they're certainly not only shown there! There were 3 from books (Misery, Handmaid's Tale and Carrie), two cryptids (mothman, yeti - although the yeti was also a star wars reference), one based on a real life haunting (the anabelle doll, although I used the movie design more heavily to reference), and three based on films (pan's labyrinth, the babadook and cabin in the woods)

I try to be broad in my choices, to try and make something for everyone! But I also prefer to only draw things that I've seen or heard of myself (which is why anime or a lot of game characters don't get much of a look in). I also try to always have 5 male and 5 female characters if I can, and I like to pick things with interesting designs (women in skintight catsuits gets a little dull). I try not to have too many from the same fandom, because I'd rather represent lots of different things in the long run.

I'm laughing because now I literally am thinking about next year and we're not even done with this year's Morostide yet!

I'm going to lock this up after talking to about it. So many things will change between now and Morostide next year so not all of the ideas now will be relevant when the time comes to draw up the new rag dolls. Please still think of ideas until the time comes and please do make a new thread for this starting about next August :)
