When logged out (Firefox, Chrome, Chrome on mobile), it's impossible to look at forum topics. It's possible to view forums and subforums, but it's not possible to view individual topics. Any topic you try to look at is stuck displaying the loading bar, nothing happens.

This happens in both the latest version of Firefox and Chrome (mobile and desktop versions) and it's been going on for a while. :(

I've always thought this was a good thing... I don't want it fixed.

This has been bugged since approx. December last year with no news at all on this being a feature. Around the last time Keith was poking at the forum code, if I remember right. Kinda doubt that it's supposed to be a feature.

If it is actually supposed to be a site feature, I'd like that to be clear. Make it redirect to a login page for clarity. Or give a "Oh no! You have to be logged in!" message. :X Otherwise, it's just going to leave people confused.

I'll see if I can find out if this was intentional or not. :o

It's annoying to have to log in on my phone to idly browse the forums when I have a complex password that I can't remember. The remember-password option in browsers never works right for me with the pin option.

I'm a bit disappointed that it was cut back to the point where not even the forums home page can be viewed, but at least it's giving a login prompt now instead of leaving users wondering.

I mean... there's not much point to viewing the home page if you cannot view any topics. If you have to be logged in to view the forums, it makes sense that it applies to the entire forums.

True. Ah, I just liked being able to lurk around the forums when my phone logged me out and I didn't have my password to hand. That's why I'm a bit disappointed.
