SPOILER (click to toggle) I have a bit of an attitude about capitalism anyway so that's another part of my issue. If you don't have a problem with that you might not have as much to worry about. I mean, I think the fact that making my mortgage payment depended on how many profitable drawings I did in a month would cause anxiety anyway, but I actually ended up resenting my most lucrative work just because it was popular and made money, yet I didn't consider it anywhere near my best. I know that's dumb - when you're in business, you just have to follow the trends and the money, but I hated doing that and such was part of my problem. XP

To clarify, we're not divorced yet (although that probably should happen), but we're still friends. I'm away from him geographically and that's better for me...maybe for him too. I don't want to blame him completely for our problems; we're just both toxic I guess. We definitely have chemistry...it's just that we're highly reactive chemicals that tend to explode when combined. x') has to turn everything into a nerdy analogy So anyway, our stuff hasn't been legally split yet. He still has all the screen printing supplies so we could still make something again someday, if one of us had a really great idea. The business is done though.

I don't think it's dumb! I can totally see how it would be draining to have to crank out work that you don't think is your best. I'm the type who wants to do a job and do it well, and want to do my best work, so I understand that. I'd love to do a webcomic one day, but I know how hard and draining that can be. It can take the fun out of it for a lot of people. I was going to read a new comic (new to me, not a NEW comic lol) recently and there was a notice that it wouldn't be continuing and I guess people were real crappy to the artist about their schedule and I saw some people reply meanly, too.

Oh! Sorry that I misunderstood. That's good you're still friends. I just thought screen printing might be fun if the creative bug bit you for it, y'know? Not as a business but as a hobby or creative pursuit.

That sucks...I've never understood how "fans" could get all shitty toward the creators of something they like. I'm just grateful the thing exists...sure, there can be disappointment, but actually getting angry and acting all entitled? Yuck.

Not your fault, not really a misunderstanding lol it's just, er, complicated so I wanted to explain. It would be fun to play around with it again so I'm glad it's not gone yet.

Yeah, it's frustrating :c I think there's some situations where it can be understandable to be upset, like when writers treat LGBT+ characters poorly and kill them off. But, to just be really nasty and entitled? Ugh. I saw someone say that it was cheating people out of money since the comic had a Patreon at a time and letting down paying customers <_< Like, just because you supported someone doesn't mean they owe you anything! I was disappointed to not know what happened with Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name, and wouldn't have liked to know what the end goal of the comic had been so I understand the disappointedment. But I don't think the artist owes it to anyone & if something isn't worth it or rewarding anymore, why do it? (Sorry for the ramble, haha)

Yeah, totally understandable! And it would definitely be cool. I never got to take a printmaking class in college. I wish I had but stuff was laid out where it never worked out with my schedule/my other art classes.

Ooh, yeah, that would be difficult. I can see being upset about something like that. But I mean like if they're not conforming to your ideal timeline or following your own headcanon or whatever, it just reminds me of Stephen King's Misery. Like eesh, ya need to chill, go create your own thing I guess.

I never took any art classes in college, pretty much just science stuff and Russian language (which I've all but forgotten, sadly). I bet college-level art classes are amazing fun; they'd have ALL the cool supplies and resources. Hm, if you have a screen printing supply shop near you, it might be possible for you to attend a sort of sample/workshop thing there if you're interested. The one we got our stuff from (Ryonet) let us play around with their equipment and showed us a few things before we bought our own press, as I recall.

Haha that's a good comparison.:p

I majored in Art Education, so I was in a lot of studios. It was fun for sure, and a lot of work. I miss having the resources and having art stores a few blocks away from me. Doing a quick google search, there's a screen printing place about an hour away. I could try to check it out sometime, but I don't drive so that poses a bit of a problem. There might be something at the local college I can look into, but I had emailed the art secretary there in the past about figure drawing and never heard anything back. That was cool they let you try some things out, though! I bet it was helpful.

Also, , the donation corner has 5,000+ items in it currently and I've grabbed a few holiday items I needed (Moro items and other holidays as well).

That definitely sounds like fun! I know there's a big fancy art store up in Seattle that I've always wanted to check out but I have yet to do so. I wish I could justify a shopping spree in a place like that but I just don't art enough. Most supplies I buy end up used once and lost or dried up by the time I need them again.

It's too bad the screen printing place isn't more convenient for you. I hope the college gets back to you...how rude to just ignore your email.

I love your witchy HA! My fave colors and extra eyeballs, perfect! lol I'd give you a "like" but for some reason that doesn't work on my phone.

Hey! Sorry I didn't reply D: I sometimes delete my comments accidentally on mobile and missed your reply at some point.

Yeah, I can feel those feels lol. I used to art a ton and it was worth it, but I don't currently have the space and some of my favorite art supplies are pack away ... somewhere? I put them away to be less cluttered but then I forget about them.

Yeah, phone likes don't work for some reason! I sometimes try to remember to like once I get back to a computer.

How've you been? I like your creepy dead astronaut. Or, Doctor Who reference?

No worries, I've done the same thing! (This time, though, I got busy. Went out of town for Halloween and then got inundated with a ton of extra hours at work.)

I used to have this illusion that if I had things I wanted to keep, all I had to do was box them up carefully and put them away and they'd last forever. Now that I've been an adult for a while, I've learned this is unfortunately not the case with many things. Art supplies being a prime example. XP Plenty of stuff does just hang around indefinitely though. Man, now I just wish I could get rid of all my clutter. I would sort of like to just get an RV to live in and travel around but I have too much stuff. Stuff I can't just throw away but no one else would want. Help. D:

I never got around to "liking" your HA before so have one now lol. I like how you used that new hair. I love that color but it's not a style I'm likely to figure out how to use.

Thank you! :) Lol just a creepy dead astronaut. So many people have asked me if it was a Doctor Who reference and I haven't even really watched the show. I think I've gotten more likes for this HA than any other I've ever made and that must be why.

I hope you had a good Halloween when you went out! And uff, extra work hours.

Haha, yeah, that's for sure! It's nice to think that'll happen, but art supplies def can go bad quickly if they're just hanging out in boxes. But that's true, there are plenty of things that can be saved for awhile! I use magazine clippings for art sometimes and have envelopes of them sitting around for whenever I'm ready hehe. Oooh, traveling in an RV would be really awesome! I'm not good at decluttering, either. I'm always like "Maybe I could use it one day!"

Thank you! :"D I'm not sure what HA I had on at the time, but I really appreciate it.

Haha, it might be! I like the creepy astronaut idea outside of the realm of Doctor Who, so I sort of like it even more knowing it wasn't Doctor Who inspired? Heh. XD It's also sort of like Dead Space!

Thanks, yeah, saw some family out of town and had a good time; nothing too crazy but it was fun. Plus, got candy and treats. :D

Ooh magazine clippings...I used to have a big collection of those in a shoebox when I was a kid (of course I'm sure it's still around here somewhere). Mostly out of my mom's metal magazines lol. I made some fun collages with those. Maybe I should try it again, might find some unexpected inspiration that way.

I'm the same...I acquire some random doodad or specialized tool. "Hey, someday I'll totally have a use for this! I'd better keep it." squirrels it away somewhere five years later Doing a project. "Oh wow, I have the PERFECT thing for this! Let me just find it...now, which room was it in... Wait, which house was it in...is it still in my parents' basement? Ugh, guess I'd better just buy another one." two weeks later...runs across the thing while looking for something else entirely D'oh.

Not familiar with Dead Space either lol. References are very hit-or-miss with me. Who knows, something I've seen at some point in my life probably inspired it; nothing's ever completely original. At least probably nothing I do, haha. But I know this particular HA just really vividly popped into my head one time when I was trying to fall asleep and I immediately had to go put it together. I don't usually think about making HAs while I'm falling asleep lol.
