I think used to be Fake Oracles Staff of Enlightenment. They changed it away from that.

RE: STS/RV/AON You only use them against challengers like super cursed effigy and only only need them for like a week of Bqs before you can beat them naturally without them at all. they have very few actual applications that help you win battles you would not otherwise win. I think people put a premium on them because they were very good on neopets, but on neopets battles were much more condensed. they also used to be incredibly cheap and affordable, not 100-250mil

And you are right. Hmm I personally still keep an RV in my main set mostly for he freeze chance against those more stubborn challengers like GE or any freeze happy jerk.

I just keep a freeze scroll as my first scroll of every battle, and I rarely have issues with GE.

- AoN is a Tier 9 weapon and has certainly helped me win a lot of battles that I couldn't have won without it. has a Tier 4 pet so AoN isn't even a possibility yet. And it took AoN plus STS plus RV plus 1200 battles for Tos to do enough damage to win a core this past Gelatin War. Also most specific icon blockers don't block large amounts before T10 and even percent healers don't heal enough when you are lower tier and your maximum health is still low. And as pointed out, they can be very useful against no heal challengers.

What do you suggest instead? I would be very interested to know.

that would be a neat change! i guess we'll have to see what the admins have planned, since i think loot after 10 wins was on the list, and maybe they could get achievement items out that way too? nov 11 seems so far away, i want to know now, haha

I know I think one of the examples used was like the Psycho Smashers from beating General Error, but I don't remember if it was staff or a user who used that as an example. With the Shrieks from Nightlady, it's not too bad to get freezing scrolls anyway. But it would still be a nice way to get some more of the achievement prizes out, so they aren't limited to just one per account anymore.

Love the idea of loot after 10 wins.

It could come in handy with getting maybe more dripping coals vials from the gelatin golems (or any vials) perhaps more amulets from harder challengers, and of course parched and singed baguette crystals from the Forjs and such.

Just like the excuse to beat up challengers well beyond the 10 wins. I cannot wait to see what they have in store after the reset.

Loot after 10 wins would be nice, I'm not sure I'm desperate to see it implemented, maybe just increase the XP drop rates? Like 10k experience for , then 50 for when it is more difficult? Like, I'm not expecting anywhere near the same amount, but 50 is so cheap :x

Here are my Default set ups:

1. BQ bomber [Item=Volatile Energized Mecha]

2. Freeze blaster

3. Nacho Blaster

4. Booster [Item=cronus blade][Item=Phoenix Quill]

5. Low level [Item=Gorgun][ITem=Soma Tablets][Item=Lambent Guardian Crystal]

With the auto select, it makes a first turn freeze into rb/st set up almost free so I use it almost every battle. The battle quest set up is the only one I even leave the AON in anymore and I don't even really have a reason for it to be there, I never click it during BQs anymore.

The constants I have shoved in each set are kinda random since there isn't a specific opponent I need them for atm. BQ is set up to efficiently beat craw beast and prodigy.

yeah, stuff like scrolls/boosters in the regular loot pool is never my favorite thing (10 wins/no shrieks lol)... tbh i'd prefer more stuff like "drops x at y wins" or more achievement tiers like you mentioned, since those are guaranteed, i just know "loot beyond ten wins" as a concept has been A Thing for ages. my problem is we're stuck waiting for news, and i am the worst at "wait and see" lmao

At least it's only 2 weeks away, so not too much longer to wait. Probably the best time to do it too, since Morostide had a lot of challengers but I don't think Fireside has very many. I know there's the bonfire bandit thing, and maybe the angry carrot, but other than that I can't really think of anything off the top of my head.

But anyway, it's a better time to make changes and see how things go when there aren't as many challengers people are scrambling to battle.

bandit, the regular cursed effigy?, and the carrot are it, i think (& that's assuming the carrot is back again this year). they planned this out well, we've got a week to finish off regular challengers after morostide and they've got around a week between the 11th and the start of fireside to get the house in order, as it were (assuming staff is keeping fireside in line with american thanksgiving, anyway)

it's honestly a really reasonable way to do things, i'm just impatient lol. dark subeta, show me the forbidden update details, etc etc

But I get you, I am really curious to see what ends up happening too. I don't know how long the updates will take, but there should be time between the 11th and the start of Fireside. I think Fireside is usually like two weeks or so, the second half of the month basically, like Morostide.

I'm excited for the rest of the year in general though. Between the battle updates and Fireside and Luminaire, and if the Morostide items are any indication we're going to be getting some pretty cool stuff for the other two events as well.

I remember reading that thread from a couple of years ago that one of the last planned updates was the loot drops beyond 10 wins (and that it required a win reset to implement), so I am excited to see what that looks like when it happens. :)

He is so annoying yes... if you can blast a wand and one of his big annoying Physical damage dealing weapons... he's a little less of a jerk... (only a little) Keep it up you can do it!!! The 5th loot drop is always good... he's like one of the best challengers to get tomes from... even if he's a pain.

LMAO I DID I don't have any sort of self control, trust me. I can only defeat the first Meatslab if I'm lucky, and only doing BQs agh. one day Belmont and I will be able to beat them all.
