For what it's worth, I have had a pet in the win queue for a very long time now, and I am a staff member. I can assure you it's 100% random who gets picked each day. No favorites happening here, if you see certain usernames frequently it's probably because they have a lot of pets in the queue, or are just lucky :o

What I said was just an observation and opinion of mine. It's been one I've had for quite a while too. I wasn't saying any of this just for attention or to be a negative nancy. I'm sure there are others on the site that feel the same. I'm not whining about not winning because, at this point, I'm happy with my pets the way they are once they get finished.

It's good to hear about the weekend winners, I think that'd definitely be a step in the right direction. Do you think there's any chance that the system could be changed? Would it be possible to put all existing entries in a random order, but then have the generator (or.. whatever thing is used to choose the winner) draw each winner in that firm order, with all new accepted pets placed one by one at the end of the queue - meaning you'd still have to get through the 300 pets already there, but those pets would all be winners before any newer entries, then after those 300 are done all new entries will be further announced in order or acceptance. I know one person mentioned enjoying it being random so that it still feels like a win - however as the pet owner you still wouldn't be able to predict the time frame, as your pet would only be put in the queue after acceptance (which would still be an indeterminate wait, depending on how many pets are also waiting, staff availability etc.) and you'd still need to wait for the others in front of you. I can't imagine a point where your pet gets nominated and you're able to accurately predict when its win will be. It just seems like a fairer system? Granted I have no idea how much work would need to go into changing the current system - but what I'm asking is if there is any point pushing for a better and fairer system - will the request be heard or is it something likely to be incredibly far down a long to-do list?

I am not saying it is impossible but I think the last time it was brought up, I think I got a no. I can bring it up again but even if the current ones were taken and assigned a win date, that would still not show any progress for about a year because we still have a year of winners queued up. All I can say for now is that I try and keep the entries pretty cleared out so if you were nominated a while ago and haven't heard anything, then odds are you are in the win queue.

I think it's worth bringing up again if its possible. At this point it's the win queue itself I have issue with. I don't like the idea of someone having been sitting in the queue for 2 years and still only having a 1 in 300 chance of being drawn as a winner. I think the win queue should factor in length of wait, even if it just means adjusting the chances a pet has of winning (ie: pets just placed into the queue have a 1 in 300 chance but for every week they're in the queue that chance increases by x% - then the winner is still chosen at random but for the most part pets who have been waiting 2 years will have an increased chance over pets who have been waiting 1 week). But yeah, I get the way it is. Thank you for your help in explaining, its really appreciated. :)
