Please try to be less graphic when talking about serial killers and their actions, it can be unsettling for many users and it does skirt the pg13 limits we have, thanks!
Real people are killed with knives and guns, and knives and guns still find their way onto the site. Neither are portrayed as positive things. They&;re just presented as things.
Knives and guns ARE just things. They are tools, and there's nothing inherently bad about them. Even the ones that skew towards the darker side like the or are based on a generic concept/history of murder and death. I think that's an important distinction.
Death and murder (even violent murder) are concepts that people find fascinating and that's fine. Once you start bringing in real life killers and their associated paraphernalia into things, you cross a very strange and uncomfortable line. I mean, you say you want representation but you're being a little vague. Are you specifically asking for items associated with their crimes and lives? Gonna be weird when the wizard keeps asking you to bring him John Wayne Gacy Painted Portrait or Ted Bundy Incriminating Bite Marks.
Like, generic forensic items would be cool, sure, but anything named or related to real killers or victims isn't going to happen. The rag doll idea is actually de-humanizing, since it puts them on the same level as Freddy Krueger or something. A fantasy killer fit for entertainment, a cute little doll representation.
My thought almost exactly. We create items so that our users can create fictional characters - but our fictional world and the truth of the real world are separate.
