I'm not sure exactly what you mean by created after conversion but before you fixed the create form.

I made this drawer on the new system of drawers. It didn't exist in the old wardrobe ever, so it's not really possible for it to have existed entirely in the old wardrobe.

I'm more than happy to try converting my HA again, but if I'm understanding you right, it really couldn't fix the issue as it wasn't ever related to the old wardrobe.

Oh no, let me try and clear up what I mean.

The new wardrobe was released, and the convert script converted your old drawers to new ones, but saved their old IDs. However, the "new system of drawers" didn't actually happen. The "Create Drawer" form was never updated to use the new system, so any drawers you made after converting your HA actually ended up existing on the old system only - and were never registered in the new system at all.

So what ended up happening was this:

  1. Drawers that existed when you converted the HA got registered in the new system, but had their old IDs saved.
  2. Drawers you made AFTER that existed entirely on the old system only.

This is why I think that converting your HA again will bring that drawer back, because if it's still there in the old system, then it will get registered in the new system once you convert.

Finally, you might be wondering why drawers that existed only on the old system still worked in the wardrobe for a while. This is because, to add on top of everything else, the wardrobe application was coded to use the old IDs only, rather than the new ones, and so it was still able to find items that were marked with that drawer's ID.

(Welcome to Subeta's codebase...)

I'm still super confused honestly, because I don't know how a drawer made in the new system went to the old system at all. I made this drawer a few months ago.

Both of those drawers (as well as all of my other ones) all appeared in my wardrobe drop-down. Now no drawers appear in my drop-down.

I'll convert my HA again, but I'm not sure how that helps when I didn't make the drawer until the old system was gone.

I'm not sure how I can explain it more clearly. If there's any part of my previous post that you don't understand, please feel free to ask about it.

To address what you said:

"I don't know how a drawer made in the new system went to the old system at all." Your drawer was not made in the new system. As I mentioned above, the Create Drawer form was not updated when the new wardrobe was released.

"I made this drawer a few months ago." This is consistent with everything else I've been saying, because it means you were using the old version of the Create Drawer form.

"Both of those drawers (as well as all of my other ones) all appeared in my wardrobe drop-down. Now no drawers appear in my drop-down." As I mentioned in my last post, this is because the wardrobe app only used their old IDs, not their IDs in the new system.

"I didn't make the drawer until the old system was gone." The old system wasn't gone and it still isn't gone. As I wrote above, drawers were existing in a weird in-between state and I'm hoping to move them to the new system entirely.

I just want to add, I am happy to try and explain what I'm doing so it makes sense to everyone, but some of this stuff is really complicated and confusing, so there will be some things where you have to just have some faith that I know what I'm talking about. ¯(ツ)

Anyway, these are the drawers I see for you in the old system:

  • Custom Wears
  • Face: Eyes
  • Masks
  • Facial Hair
  • Lips
  • Noses
  • Accessories
  • Makeup Kits
  • Private CWs

I think most of these were in that in-between state and you deleted them on the Manage Drawers page. They will pop up again when you convert your HA again, but that's not a huge deal. Are any of these the drawer you're looking for that was missing?

[edit] As for drawers not showing up in the wardrobe dropdown, the only thing I can think is that the server cache is having issues with some of you. I'm working on a utility that will allow me to manually force cache updates for people more easily, so I can better address this issue.

So, having issues here.

My old drawers haven't appeared. I tried deleting cache, that did nothing. However: when I'm trying to organise my items, I thiiiiiiiink it gets confused between what is sorted in my old drawers and what is in my new drawers.

Example: I type in grimdark with the not sorted filter I get 8 items. I type in grimdark with the all items filter and I get 18 items, and all of them are in the 'none' drawer category.

As none of them are sorted into new drawers, I assume it's using the info from my old drawers, and it's going to make rearranging new drawers a huge pain.

Can I either get my old drawers back or get a complete blank slate so I can sort without it getting confused and hiding items from me? I know it's probably not that easy, sorry D:

Hey everyone, if things are not loading/showing up in the wardrobe, it's because of sapi pages timing out. For instance, if none of your drawers are showing up in the wardrobe, it's because the sapi (which is supposed to give a list of drawers) timed out. It isn't a cache issue as we originally thought. Importantly, your data is safe, and so far there's no evidence that converting drawers (with the current Manage Drawers page) might delete them.

If you have drawers that simply don't show up on the Manage Drawers page in the first place, this can be fixed in most cases by converting your HA. (I think this is what's happening with you, you have some items in old drawers so they're not "None" but the drawers themselves are not showing up.) Be aware that converting your HA will reset what you're wearing so be sure to save your outfit beforehand. It may also bring back other drawers (possibly duplicates) that are safe to manually delete.

(However, if you end up with duplicate drawers and are unsure which one to delete, you may ping me and I can help you delete the extra.)

I tried to explain in a few posts above what's going on with the code that results in that odd situation, but honestly it's messy and counter-intuitive, so please just trust me on this xD

Pages on the rest of the site have also been lagging here and there, and we are experiencing occasional errors (502/504/520) that don't seem to persist but rather they come and go.

tl;dr:

  1. If things aren't loading/drawers aren't showing up in the wardrobe, no need to panic. It's because the sapi is timing out. Your drawers and data are safe.
  2. If you are missing drawers on the Manage Drawers page, or it seems like items are still categorized in ghost drawers, convert your HA and try again.

excuse me good sir, i don't want to be a bother but i'm just wondering how long is too long to wait for one drawer to convert? i've had my corset drawer working away for the last hour or so and it's still processing away (button saying 'converting, please wait'). is that kind of wait time normal or has something weird happened on my end? i take it refreshing the page or clicking the button again would be a no-no, so just wanted to check what the best game-plan would be :) gonna just keep waiting at this stage and go do some quests - possibly the servers are just super busy? tanks! (ha and i realise doing quests will not be helping server strain lol rolls eyes at self oh well)

Oh dear, it sounds like the page probably timed out for you >< I really need to code better error handling there. I'm so sorry. It should be fine to refresh the page and attempt the conversion again.

My situation doesn't seem to be within the most cases category :P I re-converted my HA. My drawers were not duplicated nor requested to be converted again. Wardrobe items took like 10 minutes to load. Drawers still won't show up in wardrobe. :(

(I'm in no hurry to use them though)

Yeah but you're not having drawer issues! Last I checked, the two drawers you have are on the new system and you don't have anything on the old system (hence re-converting the HA doesn't affect your drawers). You're just having issues with them actually loading in the wardrobe and stuff, which is because the entire site is laggy right now :P

You're perfectly fine! Tbh I think it will be a lot better in a few days when the gelatin war and quest-a-thon are completely over. I imagine once there isn't as much activity going on, our servers won't be so... overloaded. Right now I'm getting errors just buying from user shops for instance... And I was making my HA a little while ago, and waiting several minutes each time for the item search to load. It's definitely frustrating so I empathize.

I have to take a break but I'll be back to look at if I can do anything more efficiently on the backend, like caching more things (woo!) and in general optimizing the database queries we're using. I know one thing that seems to hang sometimes that doesn't make sense to me is displaying user avatars; those should be cached for a while, so I'll definitely be looking into that to save some processing power...

...but yes, break time, contrary to popular belief I do sometimes sleep ;)

Is there a ballpark for how long drawers take to convert? I left one drawer converting overnight and when I came back it said it was still converting. I refreshed the page and it said it was converted. I am afraid to refresh the page while a drawer is converting because I don't want to make it start over again from the beginning ^^; So should I refresh after five minutes? half hour?

Thanks so much for all your hard work here <3

Edit: Nevermind, I am trying it after a minute and it's fine. It's all fine. My gratitude still stands. :D

Thank you for making drawers work! I can now find all my long dresses at once without having to remember which is body, fullbody or chest and my hair and hair accessories are separate (among other things).
