There is only one wardrobe now. If you put the newer backgrounds on, you have to drag it below your base and the human avatar will show up.

It is not a glitch. You click on the background on your list and drag it down below where it says "base." The backgrounds are now drawn as full background so that if you don't want your human avatar to show, you can still have a background.
