----ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED----
Category and Grand Prize Judging
The contest is now over, and I won't be accepting anymore entries. That means it's time for prizes!!!
I will be selecting one grand prize (my favorite outfit out of all the outfits, regardless of category).
I will also choose one outfit per category that I think is the nicest, and best fits its category.
The grand prize winner has first choice of prizes, followed by the category winners.
People's Choice Judging
While I'm picking the grand and category prize winners, you guys get to choose your own winners!!!
When picking your own favorites:
-All entries SHOULD be listed in the first post, if you don't want to scan through all of the pages.
-It doesn't matter what category the outfits are from. You can choose your favorite based on whatever you like... Is it the prettiest? The coolest? Or are you picking it because you love how well they met a theme?
-Whatever your reasons, pick the three outfits that you feel most deserve a prize.
-Simply smail me those three favorite outfits (ranked, with 1 as your favorite, and 3 as your third favorite).
-Be sure to give me the username of the outfit, and the category, just so I can tell exactly which one you mean.
PRO Tip: If you're finding it hard to whittle down the entries, you can try what I'm doing... I copied and pasted all of the outfits from the first post into a word document, and I'm slowly deleting outfits, trying to whittle it down to the best ones. :O
You have one week to get all of your votes in
Judging ends on Friday, May 26th.

just 3? okay, almost mailed you one from each category... time to redo my choices 🐦
Okay, after much careful deliberation, and a very slow process of weeding out an entry or two every few hours, I have the results! Though it was extremely difficult, and I feel bad about some of the entries that I couldn't wind up giving prizes to... :/
I'll announce the category winners, first.
The entries for the first category were so incredibly pretty and sparkly! Some, though, were just more glittery, and more brilliant (you can never have too much light and glitter!) The entries were so amazing!!! In the end, however, there can be only one, so, without further ado, I chose...
1) Bright, glittering light
by .
I always love HA's that have beautiful contrast, and what better contrast can you create than fire combined with ice? I tried to select a HA that had a lovely balance between the two ideas, while still showing both clearly, and while maintaining a beautiful, cohesive final product. This was probably the hardest category to judge! There were just so many beautiful entries!!!
2) Fire and ice
by .
I've actually lived in/near Paris, and that definitely had an effect on how I judged this category! There were so many beautiful entries, but in the end, I took into account not only how beautiful the entry, was, but how much it actually reminded me of the time I spent there, and the people I met there. In the end, I wound up whittling that down to three entries...
the two semi-finalists, because I just wanted you guys to see them...

This entry was so pretty, and it really summed up the fashion sense and cafe culture of the city. Plus, I loved that it DIDN'T use a beret (which is so stereotypically French that the French women no longer wear them, as a general rule!). However, I also never meant a blonde French woman. It's so rare, that when I lived there, I regularly had to fight off people trying to touch my hair. :O
by Whimsical
This entry contained a beret, but it also showed a woman of such class and style, with lovely dark hair, and so many flowers. I loved the flowers in Paris, and I spent so much time wandering about in gardens, taking pictures, and drinking coffee in cafes....
In the end, however, one entry contained so many details that are so typically Parisian... Though it wasn't my favorite part of Paris, the Parisians are absolute chain smokers... Even if they're not actively smoking, they'll probably have a lit cigarette in hand. Too, there are little dogs EVERYWHERE, even in the restaurants... And sunglasses... Most of the Parisians I knew wouldn't go anywhere without their sunglasses, because they're very protective of their skin, and concerned about wrinkles. And even though it's rarely, cold, they always have a jacket, almost more to complete their outfit than anything else. So, without further ado, the winner is...
3) The Parisian
by .
Finally, the last category. It was so fun to see what you guys did with this category. In the end, there were many very sweet and cute entries! However, many entries interpreted the category in a very similar way, which let two very unique entries stand out above the rest.
I wanted to post the runner-up, as well, because I loved how absolutely creative and amazing (and honey-filled) their entry was:
Sweeter than honey runner-up
by pythonesque.
In the end, though, I had to give the award to someone that I felt used all meanings of the word sweet, and interpreted the honey side so well...
4) Sweeter than honey
by .
And finally, the grand prize winner... I chose this category completely regardless of how well the entries fit their categories. In the end, I mixed them all up, and just slowly weeded the collection down. I wanted an entry that was cohesive, with every last detail carefully noted. All of the individual parts had to fit in, and I wanted to see that the entry had taken time, and layering, and lots of effort. I also had to just plain love it. It had to be artistically balanced, it had to be unique... Colors had to match, and nothing could clash, though of course, there could be parts of the HA that stood out.
By this morning, I finally had it narrowed down to eight entries out of the 95 some individual entries that had been submitted...
The Final Eight:

Country, Whimsical, Zanoya, Kiasrai*

Puncture, Madoka, Whimsical, Chrysariel
(I believe that's Kiasrai's entry? Those seem to have been deleted, so I had to paste it in from my word document... )
In the end, there was one entry that was just so breathtaking that it stood out from the other eight. I loved the layering in the background, it used some of the items that I desperately want, and it just plain looked stinking amazing. So, without further ado, here is the grand prize winner of the contest!!!!

Okay, remember, you all still have until next Friday to send me your votes for the People's Choice Awards... Send me your three favorite entries (regardless of category).
People's Choice winners will get: First place: item(s) up to 5 M Second place: item(s) up to 3.5 M Third place: item(s) up to 2 M
Instructions for Prize Winners
Prize winners that I've just announced, your prizes will be selected from my "higher end shop", Diamonds Under the Roof. The prices should be fairly up-to-date, since I repriced most items yesterday, but if prices have changed, you can pick based on the price you see if you hover over an item. :)
The Grand Prize Winner has first dibs, so Zanoya, you can pick out items from that shop with a value (based on the user shop search prices) of 6 M sp.
Category Prize winners have the second choice. You guys can each give me a list of items worth 2M that you want to have. That's first come first serve, after Zanoya makes her selection, of course. You can post right away, but if you choose something Zanoya has selected, you'll have to choose again. Category winners include Whimsical, Madoka, poppet, and Holden.
