So during today's account clearing, apparently a lot of users are refreshing to get pet names. I was trying to change a pet's name during the clearing. The system took the CSC without changing the name. Please look into this. This can look very bad because I can't help to think of the fairness in name snagging.

[edit] I already filed a ticket and got my CSC back. The UA wanted me to post here so that it'd be easier for other users to see and for programmers to ask questions.

I already got mine back as well via ticket, but just thought I'd mention the same thing happened to me.

This happened to me too only it was from a clearing several days ago. I got a message that said something to the extent of "Oh No! Not even the mystical powers of the Enchanted Hypnosis Wand can change a name that's already taken!" (which is weird considering the EHW isn't used anymore) and I noticed later that 500 CSC had been deducted despite not getting the name change.

I filed a ticket but I was told that the name change should be "banked" on my pet still (as in I can try changing his name again and it should be free)? His name change page still says it'll cost 500 CSC and I haven't changed his name to something else yet so I can't confirm that at the moment... Nevertheless, hopefully it's true and I'm not charged another 500 CSC again!

I'd just like to follow up on the issue, since one of my friends just encountered it not long ago again. I don't mind losing the CSC temporarily, but I just want to know if at the moment, renaming would be disadvantageous comparing to creating a pet during clearings?

The last time I encountered this and filed a ticket was on October 11th, but I haven't had it happen to me again since then.. though to be fair I haven't done too many name change snags in a while.

I'll keep an eye out in the meantime! If you need any specific details, feel free to let me know! I have a ton of tickets piled up from running into this bug many times in the past, pfft.

I tried to do a name change on at least two clearings recently and haven't had this happen again either.
