MOROSTIDE RELEASE

You approach the dilapidated house with the boarded up windows with trepidation. Clutching your bag of candy, you push open the gate and step through. The cobblestone path leading up to the door is uneven and barely visible in the moonlight, and you shuffle forward slowly. There are no lights on up ahead, but this is the last house on the street, and your friends have dared you to ring the doorbell. From somewhere nearby you hear a scream. Was that human? You think about turning around, but your friends are standing on the other side of the gate, cheering you on. Taking a deep breath, you force your feet to keep moving, past the dead apple tree and wilted flowerbeds. A raven caws and you nearly jump out of your socks. Finally, you approach the rickety wooden steps and climb on to the porch. There are cobwebs hanging from the awnings, and covering the door. You reach out your hand before you can chicken out, and knock once. Rap Tap Tap. Nothing happens. You turn and see that your friends are urging you on. Your heart feels like it's about to burst out of your chest, and your palms are sweaty, but you're determined to complete the dare. You knock a second time. Rap Tap Tap. You can hear footsteps on the other side, faint at first, and then louder. You close your eyes and steady yourself. The door opens slowly, with a loud creak. With your eyes tightly shut, you thrust your bag of candy forward and croak out "Trick or Treat!", your voice hoarse and barely audible. You open your eyes and there's nobody there. Squinting, you try to peer into the darkness just beyond the door, but you can't make anything out. Suddenly, a voice calls to you from deep within...

"Well, which will it be? TRICK or TREAT? You may only choose one, so pick wisely..."
