ugh that's frustrating if you get one win so easily and then can't get another. I'm sure that's happened to me in the past :/
if you want to test out another shriek tomorrow or in a few days once you've recovered a bit, lemme know =)
don't give up on training though, next year you'll be much much stronger and this opponent won't even pose a threat :)
Yeah, who even knows. I probably should've been paying more attention to the fight text, but I was just caught up in the prettiness. I definitely got some critical hits along with being lucky with freezing. (Also perhaps it's possible that his weapons upgrade slightly between the first and second battle like they do 9-10.)
I'll let you know on the Shriek. It's a solid maybe. :P
And training is definitely a must. I remember when I started training years back- I was always sad I couldn't compete in plots. Couldn't make it past the first level of battlers and wanted the loot/achievements for higher ones. I admit I was rather slow over the years, and don't always do my battle quests, but getting better.
A lot of people start battling during plots or events and just don't keep it up, so no real progress is ever made.
I have my main accomplishments for Wuf on this page and that's with very consistent training and bqs, so you can see how long it takes to progress through things.
ugh if you could somehow get to t10 this would be so much easier. just remembered pbow is t10 (ugh why didn't I think of that when I was going for my wins) which would have helped a lot
@ Chocolate do you think anything in specific helped outside of the amulet? i've been watching your thread and hoping you'd be luckier than i was; i've managed just the one win and the world's most aggravating tie x:
[edit] "You tied with Panzer Hydra!" ... make that two ties
@ volkner Ooh, ties are good!
Things I for sure liked- the Helmet and Shriek scroll were super lovely to freeze. The Cobalt scrolls were also really useful for general blocking. My Rainbow Vortex was a good last ditch effort blocker, but by the time I got around to using it, I was probably screwed already.
Other than that? I'm fond of my Trident, but the Bludgeon was a good attack+healer as well.
What are you using that managed to get you ties?
[edit] I certainly tend to make my big battle purchases during the events. :P My vault is not pretty sad. Went through my CSC stock buying weapons and scrolls as well. Welp. But continue training I will. If I could somehow leap an entire tier in a week, then believe me I would, but alas. A few days ago I was happy to just get to T9. Next year, for sure. Perhaps I can get close to T11 if I'm diligent.
have you tried the replica minotaur knocker instead of the bludgeon?
[edit] you can definitely get to t11 in a year if you keep it up. that's just with bqs and training too =)
events definitely provide motivation. not a bad thing to make your purchases during them - you want to try to get the wins and if any weapon might help, it's worth a shot :)
I didn't actually try the Knocker during battles. That being said, I didn't use the Bludgeon all that much. Primarily Trident with Rapier thrown in.
Try the knocker if you try again and see if that helps at all :)
ties would feel better if i didn't get him down to 48hp only for him to turn around and bop me in the nose for 800 lmao
my default set rn is gorgun + recycle blaster + acorn bomb + trident + rapier of error + malignant rift staff + large gutting knife + p quill; for scrolls I've got two cobalts, five whirlpools, holy deluge, and divine denizhen
to be honest my best weapon right now is the blessing of rng -- i'm honestly just rolling around praying that i chain-freeze long enough or heal just enough to last one or two more turns so i'm leaning heavily on trident + rapier which is okay but not great w/r/t damage output
i keep meaning to upgrade now that widow can use neat things but my first love is pet treasures so i always find an excuse to put those big purchases off... i'm a bad battler ;>> but the helmet comes up enough in suggestions that it is clearly time to save up for the components x:
[edit] +1 tie, +1 win help help i'm having palpitations
I ultimately purchased some refined components from the shop, as there was no way I was reaching the EH token quota. It is quite nice. I relied pretty heavily on my Scientist Specs before, so the upgrade makes sense for me.
You do have a pretty reasonable setup of weaponry though. Perhaps if I tried some weapon that has more of a punch.
At this point I just don't quite have the energy to pray for rng- luck hasn't been in my favor and I'm tired. Thought I put in a worthy attempt, which satisfies me. Alas.
that one win is nothing to sneeze at, o: whenever i beat something new in battle quests i remember how i used to have problems with angrybeard, haha. & i'm a sucker, so i'll probably keep trying at least through the weekend. if i leave it at three wins/three ties i'll be left with the same regret i have when i see the pylot forum title around ;w; i can't afford to buy the components off the shop search right now, so i'll probably start poking at the challengers i've been ignoring, too.
- sorry - I've been busy with real life stuff and am just now working my way through a million pings - yes the core blocks 75 light and attacks wit 40-45 dark. It also has 3 mod slots.
- so sorry you didn't have better results. I'm pretty sure if you can't get to five wins, then Tos can't either. I'm really impressed that you managed to get that first win. Looks like the hydras will probably be coming back next year though, so we will definitely flatten that seven headed guy then!
Anyone who wants to know anything about battling on Subeta should know that is amazing. He seems to always be around to help with anything battle related. (And I just love that his top rated battle pet is named Wuf!)
Are you both still trying? Maybe I can help! I managed to get 2 wins with my T8 using trident, prodigy staff and the flayed lord breastplate. I also equipped 2 blasters, 2 healers, 3 perilous whirlpool scrolls and aftershocks scroll. I would swap out all the blessed armors for parched baguettes as you get an extra turn of freeze protection with parched. It also adds water damage to the trident and prodigy staff. I froze first turn then double blasted and use a perilous whirlpool if his blessing didn't activate. If he froze then I used prodigy staff + trident + whirlpool. If he still froze than I did the same combination with the last whirlpool. For the rest of the battle I pretty much used prodigy staff and the flayed breastplate. If I was at full health, then I gambled and used prodigy staff and trident to do more damage.
The breastplate is cheap and can be modded with parched baguettes so it will do some water damage and protect from freezing. It does have the chance to protect you for nothing but when it does block it blocks a lot of his damage
You have defeated Panzer Hydra 5 times! Wins: 5 Losses: 188 Ties: 3
yodels i am never doing this again; five more wins can wait for next year
i wasn't able to get your dual-blaster strat to work but the breastplate kept my sorry behind alive long enough to claw out two more wins (with like twenty more losses in between lmao) thank you so much for the suggestion!!! ;A;
Glad to hear it worked! Congrats on your wins :D
I just remembered I only have a few more days to beat this guy. He handed Pacifist's ass to me on the first time. She only got one freeze in. Is there a no freeze buff? The little dragon head? Forgot to try any stealing or blasting though so going to heal and try one more time before work.
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
- adding Parched Tear (or Parched Baguette if you can afford them) Crystals to your weapons that have mod slots adds a chance to activate a freeze protection blessing.
He doesn't allow stealing so don't waste your stealers :P I'd say go for blasters instead. When his blessing is up, it's freeze-protection, so you can only freeze him first turn or whenever his blessing is lifted. And yes it's the little dragon head, similar in look to
[Edit] Wait what? Are you having trouble with the 8-headed (the last one) or the 7-headed version?
Uhh I counted 7 heads but i could be wrong. It is very likely the last one. 30k health.
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
That's the 8-headed one. Stealing is no good against him. You can head to the Battle Chat to ask for advice. I think I've seen people with your stats beat him a few times.
is also lending out weapons to counter him in the Lending board. You might want to check it out when you've got free time to tackle the hydra.
