I know, I know, the kimono trend has finally slowed down and most people have moved on. But for those who still use these items I was mostly looking for two things:
More color swaps for the items we do have. Having the Ornate Tops in the colorways of the Festival Dresses for example
Shorter skirts for the tops we already have. these style tops are amaaaazing, but when you pair them up with the matching shoes the long draping dresses and skirt items are kind of useless. The tops and skirts would easily go together with the various Obi covering the midsection and then we could add one of the millions or pairs of tights we have on-site and show off those legs! I know CWs had this whole short kimono thing down a while ago and they've since moved on, but I think it would be awesome if we could get more options for the Fine Fabrics items we already have.
Oh geez, I know I said I was gonna put everything up in here for the suggestions but dang I didn't expect anyone to actually show up! <3 Go look though everyones links and such because it's full of loveliness
I just want more everything in Fine Fabrics the kimono wave will nevar die down muahaha
That said since the theme for Shengui Gou is Asian-influenced in general I believe, I would love to see some things other than kimonos too, like saris and hanboks! Would also love mens' oriental clothing in general; even though I usually have a female HA, I would love to work with some traditional mens' wear!
I agree. There's also Nepal, Laos, Mongolia and Vietnam in terms of fashion to consider. I'm so down for a second wave in Fine Fabrics. Or more stuff in Shengui Guo in general.
Are there any ankle length items to use? I don't think that there are but I'm on my phone so I can't check. Releasing ankle length bottoms would also allow the shoes to be shown off.
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
I'd love to see some matching tops with shorter sleeves so the hands aren't covered.
According to Jogoh's Subetpedia article she "Spends a lot of time sketching out designs in a sketchbook that she always keeps on hand, as inspiration can come from anywhere". Maybe inspiration could come from clothing worn by the tourists who now shop in the floating market.
I'd love to see more tops beyond kimonos. As much as I love them. XD

I want MORE TOPS that are not kimonos and even more. Beyond and beyond omg. Hear me out - I'm 100% thirsty alright? Alright.
Just ... more knock-off please. I need them all in 750 colours. I just want.
That's something I've been waiting for a bloody eternity! Since Shengui-Guo is Asian-inspired, my guess is that more clothing based on traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Southeast-Asian outfits should be included. And in more colours, too! Plus, there should be a place for men's clothing, as well!
seconding the shorter skirts, but also one piece/dress kimonos rather than the two (three if you count the obis) pieces we have now. also more colour variety omg id love to see some in the ever popular pastels or black with bright colourful patterns. theres also different types of kimonos and eras inspiration can come from.
[ and if we're going asian-general id love to see saaris too as i see mentioned tbh, i bet they'd be beautiful in johgohs hands, ]
he/it | I'm afraid I'm a bit lost around here. | | |
I want hanbok. And don't stop at women's hanbok, because men have baji for their hanbok! Pants! :D Let's get some haori, haori himo, montsuki kimono, and some nice hakama for the men.
And I know the anime fans would die for red hakama/red skirt with a bow tied on the waist and white haori.
I'mma leave these here, even though I feel like the men got left out in the 21st century.XD I couldn't find for men so far ;_;
Simplified deel of a herder. A little fanicer and super fun. The vibrant colors! I'd frankly kill for these, whether they're boots or more of a slipper. FUN FACT TO SMACK PEOPLE WITH. Princess Amidala's costumes are inspired by the Mongolian deel which can be pretty in its simpler forms.
This basically! More clothing styles from other East, South, and Southeast Asian cultures, in feminine, masculine, and neutral styles :D
they/them/theirs, please.
Complete support for this, and great ideas so far.
Stuff I'd like to see:
All the current items in all the different colour combinations.
Short versions of Ornamented Sleeves.
Tunics
Wrapped long tops (short, long & no sleeve) suitable styles for f/m/neutral.
Wrapped fabric dresses/gowns.
Smaller head wear/hats/ornamentation.
Mini, Midi, Ankle and Maxi lengths for skirts/gowns.
Would love Subetan themed prints/colour schemes for the clothing items. eg. themed to Subetan locations, seasonal holidays, prints with nods to other NPCs
Hareem-style pants/trousers, wide legged trousers
Short/med/long jackets, different sleeve styles, patterned, plain,
If Jogoh can team up with another NPC, items with armour would be fun too. (think this idea was mentioned on an older thread, and I really liked it).
clothing with a different (or the illusion of a different) leg pose like what was achieved in
Fine Fabrics (and Five Seven Five) need some love! i just want everything suggested in this thread (the possibility of Nepal inspired items has me super interested). give me men's options, give me women's options, give me unisex options, i don't care. i just want more Fine Fabrics items (and Five Seven Five items! please?)
Edit: also specifically seconding the call for shorter skirts/bottom pieces. if only one thing comes from this thread, it should be that.

Wow, wasn't expecting so many people to show up! So many good suggestions for different pieces here, glad I wasn't the only one still thirsty for more clothing :D
And what about having the same kind of clothing as Som?
I think the hair sticks fit better in Five Seven Five
You are right, plain ones definately belong in Five Seven Five. I feel however some of the more elaborate traditional ones fit right in with fine fabrics headdresses.
Novelty ones could even be genetech combo's, it has been a while since we saw new ones.
