You know honestly, my friend told me to join this site and I did. I have no idea how anything works P:
I began playing 7 years ago because I had got banned from Neopets and saw this place being advertised as Adult Neopets lol. I used to be way more active on here, earning money all the time, selling things, doing quest. In the past 3 years I've stopped coming on, mostly because I feel like the community is dying. Threads are hardly active, days go by. It doesn't feel like any real payoff. I do enjoy dressing up my avatar though.
Mostly because of my friends, events and working slowly on my pet Bucky (:
I love spending time Restocking, which makes me lots of sP to send gifts to friends :D
i've been on here for... quite a while, haha!
to be honest, i'm not very social, so i spend most of my time messing with my pets' profiles, or my own. i also really actually enjoy questing? it's fun, and i love to collect items...
i also love just trying to get my favorite pets on the site! ;v;
I can think of no other better use of a smartphone/computer (outside of paying bills perhaps) than playing games on virtual game sites. I was with Neopets since 2005 until I got locked out. I recently came here in January and love this site way more than Neopets.
Its an old childhood favorite of mine! Ive been away for some while...so my stats on basically..EVERYTHING are super low. but who cares right? Its the fun that matters!
Pretty much playing here for my friends and giving me something to do to pass time when I need the distraction. That and plots and events can be fun.
Nearly 10 years a member.
i play because it's one of my favourite ways to kill time!! if i don't feel like watching netflix, reading a book, or doing whatever else i usually do, i come here to make sP and collect pretty items for my galleries :3
Playing Subeta gives me a false sense of accomplishment (lmao). If I get a large amount of quests done over the weekend, I actually go into work on Monday feeling less bummed out than I would on average because I'm thinking about how many achievement items I'll be able to afford.
But it's like you said. A lot of items cost real money and everyone I've ever traded with are shocked because of the collective value of CSC items I'm willing to offer them in exchange for a high sP achievement item. But when I didn't have money to blow on CSC, Subeta was a pretty bleak experience, honestly. I played less than I do now. So if people don't really believe in spending real money on some random website like Subeta, I can understand why they don't come on as often or just fall out of interest altogether. I did, too, way back when. Like, knowing that I'm investing some of my paycheck is actually one of the primary reasons that I stick around. Otherwise I would consider it a waste of money like I know a lot of people (understandably) do.
I come out from this need to congregate, the few people out here where I live are not my choice of company.
What I do has changed, from little to nothing to more routine attendance. I'm content to be able to find books and tinker around, most other activities don't interest me.
Community. That's the main reason I'm here. There are so many lovely people who I get to talk to on a daily basis(if I choose to be here daily) that bring rays of sunshine to my life. I also really love the goals I can set and achieve for myself, being sp, or questing or collection goals It's overall a great place!
I still find questing to be weirdly satisfying, even after years of doing all of them every day, haha. For a while I was trying to read my pet every book in Subeta, but I'm down to a handful that don't restock / are impossible to get. Plus battling! Even if I'm not great at it, it's fun!

I only really play around here pretty casually, but I do it almost daily and it never fails to be even a little satisfying. Some days I only come on to do a couple of dailies (namely the bathhouse, but sometimes the ruffie raffle and Shinwa's quest, stuff like that) and check the news; other days I do a bit of questing to pass the time (I have adhd and questing really helps me focus if I'm trying to listen to podcasts or music) :) I also have some friends here -- not as many as I'd like, it's only a small handful, but they're people I don't talk to anywhere else and it's nice to know I can check up on them and see how they're doing around here. We'll exchange gifts and comments, which is always nice. And holidays! Holidays never fail to bring me back if there's a lull in my activity. The month or two prior to Luminaire I start stocking up on potential gifts for my friends and the little Mysterious Melody exchange c:
I do occasionally buy CSC and purchase a couple CWs if I feel like I really want something - having spent money on the site time and time again kinda incentivizes the experience for me, I don't want my money to go waste haha. I have found a lot of really amazing wardrobe items for my avatars that aren't behind what's essentially a paywall, though, and sometimes I'll just play around in the wardrobe and make outfits I can literally never wear. Sometimes I use the wardrobe as a character creator :')
I originally started when I was pregnant on bed rest as something to do to pass time. I found I very much enjoy the collections (plushies, beanbags, cards ect) and hoarding random stuff xD

To be honest, I got started because two of my friends that I play Overwatch with kept mentioning the site and I thought I'd give it a try. I used to play Gaia Online a lot because I'm a junkie for avatars and pretty things so that transferred. But I'm also an achievement hoarder, so I like that aspect of it. I'm still trying to find my way though. :)
Happy Survival!
I love my pets and restocking is fun. I just like to hoard money because I like to feel rich and powerful somewhere.

I've been a member for 9+ yrs but had a 7 yr gap of playing (darn husband lol) - I came back because I missed it. There has always been a ton of things to do on here so it keeps me busy...and the wardrobe feature is my fave! :)
