--An Oracle-like quest-giver that appears randomly/rarely with a CW (from the pawn) as the prize: requires a LARGE amount to sP or complicated activity to win, has a short time limit.

This would probably have to cost close to the value of a CW so people don't just turn around and resell their prize to the pawn shop to profit, otherwise Subeta's just handing out free CSC. If the prices are close enough, then this is essentially a CS chance machine, and those have never been too popular on Subeta. Even worse, it's completely blind. It's not like the animal CS chance machine where you can see the item pool, so it's an even bigger risk. Would this even be popular?

--An npc like the Hustler or Ujin who occasionally sells 2 or 3 CWs (again, from the pawn) on a rotating basis. Once the item is sold out, it&;s gone for the day.

--An event shop stocked with CWs from the pawn shop that&;s only open certain times of the year.

--A restocking shop of sorts, stocked with unlimited-batch CWs (of course, releasers would need an option to allow their CW to be put into this shop first!)

Restocking like NPC shops, with limited quantities of each item? I could maybe see that working if the items were discounted, otherwise why wouldn't you just buy from the existing CW shops? But really I think a CW hustler would cover it. Three different NPC-run CW shops is excessive and redundant, imo. I don't think any of these gimmicks are unique enough to justify more than just one shop.

The rest of these ideas don't really need a new land (most should be part of the cash shop), and as someone not very into CWs I'd honestly be pretty miffed if there was one. We rarely get new lands as it is, and I'd rather not see the next land themed around something so exclusive.

Indeed!

Thank you for your input! I was hoping some non-cw oriented people would comment so we could get lots of opinions. My main goal in this suggestion post was to find somewhere to be "homebase" for CWs other than the forums. Right now, information is not very accessible and honestly, CWs get very little site-wide attention (or so it feels to me). My idea to create a new land (or suggested just a new section of Centropolis), where CWs could be visible to the site as a whole instead of hidden off on their own, and where various CW workings could be centrally located. As someone that's not deeply entrenched into CWs, would you say that they have much visibility on the site right now?

I definitely see what you're saying about too many shops operating at once, and that would definitely have to be at the discretion of people more knowledgeable than me on the economy of the site. I'd like to find some way for average users (with less interest in the CW market and/or less CSC than someone that buys tons of CWs usually has) to have access to CWs easily. The idea of discounting the "recycled Pawn Shop items" that I had in mind for the shops (other than the event shop) is a good one -- it'll simulate what people liked about the Pawn Shop, I think!

I created this thread to spitball some ideas for how to make a CW-centric part of the site more fun and inclusive, like other areas, and I definitely recognize that not all of my/our ideas are feasible. XD

I'm not super into CW's - I've never slotted for one but I've used the CW Shops in the past as well as the Pawn Shop. I'd love a sort of centralized CW area as well.

I do agree with the idea of it being part of Centropolis, and having clear-cut guides as well as some different non-pawn options for purchasing - this would be a great way to 'browse' some of the available CW's. I get a little overwhelmed when I find one I love in the wardrobe to find out that it's not buyable anywhere.

I don't think visibility is the issue. Pretty much everyone knows they exist, and I see them all the time. And anyway, hiding new CW features in a side section of Centropolis won't help much with visibility, because people have to find it first. That's another reason these things (CW hustler, CW shop searching, and rules/guides) should be part of the cash shop. That's the first place people will look when they want to spend their CSC, and if it's not there then you're losing customers.

I think it's more a matter of accessibility. Clicking the "Custom Wearable" link under the cash shop tab at the top of any page takes you to a page that tells you to use the wardrobe to find available CWs. But if you use the wardrobe, there's no way to filter results based on what's actually available, which is pretty much useless considering the number of private or otherwise unavailable CWs. If a casual player can't find what they're looking for without jumping through hoops, then they're not going to bother.

Hopefully this problem will be solved by the new database they've been talking about. I could go on, but I don't know if I have anything new to add to that discussion so I'll probably just wait and see what happens. :P

- Going off of what suggested, having a fashion movement in Centropolis sounds like something that would fit in the Subeta world. I like this idea a lot better than the new island idea.

you are such a fantastic personnnnnn hugs this is a wonderful idea and I hope Keith gets a look on this too!!

i think on one of our last cw idea board we also made a suggestion of having a csc/cw raffle i think it would fit great here on this island :0 like people use small csc denominations to buy raffle tickets to get a chance to win cws

idk like the specific mechanics xD but a chance to win csc/ cws would be fun so that people get a chance to win things (like how the bathhouse gives csc was really such an ace move)

im pretty stumped right now but ill try to think of more soon ;3

I've bought CWs. I have at least 50 some odd total in my wardrobe and scattered across various pet treasures that I've bought through various means, slotting, CW shops, the pawn shop, but with that said, I'm not keen on the idea of a land on the Subetan map exclusively dedicated to CWs on site. If there is a new land on site I'd ideally like it to be site released so that it could tie into existing plots on site or so that it could be introduced via a new plot on site a la Shengui Guo and I just can't see that happening with a CW based land.

CWs by the very nature of how they're created can't really be tied into Subetan plots because they're both site user released and because not all of them are available freely for purchase for the entire user base.

That said, I would be open to having an area in one of the cities for the consolidation of information involving CWs on site. CWs tend to be confusing for those who don't really use them and the fact that it's hard to tell which ones are private and which ones are not is a big factor in why there are probably a number of users who simply aren't interested in them. I'd be open to having a centralized area somewhere in Centropolis just to have quick access to user CW shops, information about CWs and established rules about their release on site in general.

I'm not big on a new land entirely, but I do like the idea of a little shopping mall. As it is right now, I don't like the current custom wearable page, and as features are added (database) I think it'll just become more cluttered if it's added. It has such a focus on CW shops that I would like it to stay that way. A small area would be a great way to keep different parts of CWs separated but still in the same place.

omg thank u for the ping!!

come loOK

i REALLY love the concept for this so, so much; CWs feel really disconnected from the rest of the site's lore at times because there's no real tie-in to the world/etc. the cash shop doesn't really have a specific location on the map either as far as i'm aware, but all the items are thematically spot on and have a niche or a fit into a zone/area/etc. i'd love to have CWs have that same feel, like the inhabitants of subeta have their own wares & clothing/etc to add to the culture of it in some way. /end rambling

specifically i think most of all i'd love to see a link to CW shops, just a generalized link on a map that takes folks to them and really makes it feel like these Custom Wearable Items were Crafted by Subeta Citizens. that would give me a lotta joy tbh, even though it's really simple uwihgiuwhg

A quick idea while I'm at work:

The theme could be kind of like an artist's collective/neighborhood, something with lots of creative npcs and art supply shops and galleries and stuff!!!!!! Like a fashion district but less snooty/intimidating!

There was a mall called Artegon Marketplace where I live. (It's unfortunately closed now.) It allowed artists to set up small shops and sell their items there.

I bring this up because an artisan mall in Centropolis would be perfect. There could be an information center that has vital information on CWs. A mall directory can serve as the place for the CW database. There can be an office that serves as a place to submit new CWs. (A place where you can apply to be a new tenant.) There could be other shops like supply shops sprinkled in there. And the main part of the mall can be a collection of shops with items made by Subetan artists.

The lore can be something simple like: a group of Subetan artists wanted a collective place to showcase and sell their items, so they got together and bought a defunct shopping mall. After working hard to renovate the mall, they officially opened their doors to all of Subeta.

An outdoor marketplace would be awesome too.

I like the idea of an artisan mall especially if it includes more than the CW information and shops and includes some npcs and npc shops related to many arts, not just fashion.

I think I'd like to see the Lower West Side of Centropolis get a makeover and the artisan mall put there rather than in the main downtown.

I really like the idea of the area being a shopping mall in Centropolis! I think a mall directory/map would be the perfect place to keep the CW directory, and the stores/booths can link to the stores you suggested, or the CW section of the cash shop.

As someone who can't afford to buy CSC for myself yet, and has no experience doing digital art, CWs are 100% intimidating to me! The boards are huge and busy (and I believe some of them can't be seen unless you have submitted a CW?) and the items are expensive and seem like an impossible goal for someone like me. I own precisely 2: one I got discounted as a team Steele member from this summer, and one I bought during the pawn shop sale this winter. As such, I think ways to earn CWs for sp or onsite activities would be great! Either an RE quest or maybe a once-daily quest that has a 1/10 or 1/20 chance to drop CWs? (obviously the quest goals would be tough and/or expensive.) Ways to earn discounts on CWs found there would be neat also.

If I come up with more ideas/thoughts, I'll edit this post to add them in!

@ curls Thanks for your input! I think everyone could benefit from some way to browse CWs other than the wardrobe. I've heard tell of some kind of database that's already in the works, so that will be great regardless of whether we get a new section in Centropolis/on the map!

@ Speiro Thank you again. You do have a point about CWs being visible in the Cash Shop area - I think they should remain so, and I do hope the database helps with being able to browse/find available CWs for purchase. (I also hope that the CW Shops themselves will be better organized and searchable, but that's a different topic entirely. :p My hope that a centralize location on the map or putting CWs somehow within the site lore will not only improve visibility, but also encourage users to be interested in the CW process like any other thing on site (battling, creating pet profiles, etc). It's not just about being able to purchase, or knowing they exist. My hope is that CWs will be integrated into the site like other things, if that makes sense.

@ Cherri @ Greg Thank you both! Several people have shown support for a new area in Centropolis or a revamping of some area there, and I would be totally behind this too! I can understand how some players might feel like an entirely new land would be overkill. This is why I'm so happy for all the feedback! <3

@ Cresenta Thank you! I'm really intent on finding a way to make CWs a real part of the site and the site culture!

@ Waijay Aww, thank you buddy! <3 The raffle idea is a great idea, I'll make sure to add it to the first post! And please do add any more ideas you think up. ^^

@ Normandy Thank you for your input! It seems the idea of an entirely new land may be a bit much, but there has been lots of support for a new/revamped section of a city like Centropolis, which I think could do fine. As for integrating CWs into existing Subeta lore...hmm, I'm not sure. Of course you're right that the items themselves, because they are limited, couldn't be used exactly like other plot-related items, but I think there's a way to use storylines and NPCs (perhaps a fashion designer) to embody the spirit of the creators of CWs and integrate the community into the site. I'd be interested to see what staff could come up with!

@ sentinel Thanks for stopping in! ^__^ The shopping mall and/or small area in Centropolis seems to have a lot of support, I'd be all for that!

Yessss this is exactly the feeling and desire I was trying to express, maybe a bit inelegantly! I'm glad to see some others feel the same way!

@ dollipop @ Cherri Okay, the idea for a fashion district or artisan mall is SO CUTE to me! What a great idea, you guys! If we were to expand the area beyond just the couple of things needed for CWs (info, database, etc), I would really love integrating the art community in general a bit and having artsy/craftsy NPCs and such (I had a couple of things about putting the Grooming Parlor etc in the same area, with the idea of fleshing out a clickable map). The mall directly idea for the mall directory, office, and so on would work so well, I think. Expanding the area to include other realms of art other than CWs could be potentially awesome, as well, since Subeta has such a large and thriving art community in general.

Thank you, I really like the idea of making a CW-related quest-giver have only a CHANCE to drop a CW as a prize, I hadn't thought of that before. It would help keep the economy from being flooded, I think. Thank you so much for your input, making CWs easier to understand is a big goal! The boards can be a lot to take in at once, since there's a lot going on. If you ever have questions, I would be happy to help if I can. ^^ (Btw, there is only one board that can only be seen by those who have submitted a CW, and it only has a new topic in it once in a blue moon.)

Thank you for stopping by! I hope we can make things easier somehow. :)

Heyyy, thanks buddy for popping in! I FEEL YOU on brain mushiness! I haven't been on all day and now I'm trying to read all these and get decent replies formulated when bed is looking sooo tempting, haha! If you think of anything, I welcome your input. <3
